BU can (and should) do better than to schedule a team that was part of an exhibition game just a few seasons ago.
SIUI-E was on BU's schedule last year, as an exhibition

We also played them in 2003-2004, on 11/13/03 as an exhibition.
Unless we're landing a big time 'name' opponent for our last game, this game is absolutely unacceptable. I know we're inexperienced and unproven, but I just can't say I approve of scheduling D-II teams for regular season games.

      BB--
I am reluctant to accept 100% that this is accurate.
As I scanned the SIU-E site, the 2006-2007 schedule appears to have been posted some time ago.
And there is no story at all about their schedule, so I don't plan to get too upset until I see an official BU announcement.

I hope you're right. I think they're a great exhibition opponent. I just really don't like them as a regular season game.

My feelings exactly!! That was the reason for my original post.

A guy on the Illiniboard did some calculations using last year's RPI's and this season's nonconference schedules.

Here is what he found suggesting Bradley's non-conference schedule is better than
            Illinois, Kansas, or Indiana:

            Non-Conference Average RPI (of opponents)
            Arizona 65.72
            Bradley 125.91
            Indiana 129.92
            Illinois 145.73
            Kansas 151.71

and even including the conference season (given that the MVC isn't as tough as the Big Ten),
Bradley still is right up there:
            TOTAL Average RPI (of opponents):
            Arizona 90
            Indiana 93.86
            Illinois 101.19
            Bradley 111.48
            Kansas 117.36
