I see HOI and WEEK are joining forces, spelling the end of 19's local news.

Anyone know what happens to Mattson?? As bad as the rest of HOI's news can be, Mattson does the best job of local sports coverage, especially high school. Will he show up on 25??

Will WEEK just run WHOI kind of like WMBD does with FOX?
Some see a hopeless end, while others see an endless hope.

On WEEK, they said Mattson would join forces with Lee to create a great sports juggernaut.

Anchorlady stays on WHOI and Lee Ransom (from WEEK) will do weather. (Although Ransom's a really nice guy, I think he misses on some forecasting accuracy because he does not dig into the computer models, and his incliment weather warnings often miss detail..)

Now, between the 5 stations (ABC, NBC, Weather+, CW, and MyTV) figure how to do a few Bradley games!

As PH says, Mattson stays. This is good, I like Jim a lot.

Hopefully they can get the BU games back on local TV. A LOT of DirecTV customers are not happy about not being able to get the BU games on their local channels. Quite frankly the Comcast broadcasts have been poor at best (outside of the announcers). It's time to get them back on local TV.
        Onward and Upward!

Haha, put them on Weather+. I already have a sweet tagline:

"Bradley Basketball on Weather+. Bringin' The Thunder!"

            just a couple of things:

I have never cared for Mattson's boadcasts.

As a direcTV customer, I would welcome Braves games on local tv, but I am not going to hold my breath waiting for this to happen.

That's probably because Lee isn't a meteorologist. It's one of the reasons the other stations make a big deal out of it.

Mattson gave/gives great local sports (especially HS) coverage. His constant head-bopping/movement during coverage is brutal and eye-gouging.

As is his penchant for hanging onto words at the end of sentences. "... football at Metamoraaaaaaaaa."

The overwhelming majority of weather reporters on TV stations nationally are not meteorologists, and it never makes any difference. Weather men on TV don't use any of their meterological skills. All weather people get their weather information from one of a couple national weather reporting services, and those services provide virtually the same information to everyone.
You don't need a meterologist to obtain information and report it.
There is a reason Lee Ranson is the most popular weather man in Peoria, and the most popular this area has had since Bill Houlihan. And it is why they retained him over Rick Kearby of WHOI. He knows what people want to know, and he reports it in a way they understand.

By the way, I think Lee is more often accurate than any of the other guys, too.

Rick Kearby was my fave in Peoria. I'm gonna miss him.

My fave all-time weatherman was Pete Delkus.

Jim Mattson does a great job catering to the high school kids, letting him go would have been a big mistake.

Is it true that on weekends they do their broadcasts out of a studio in Indiana?

If you want brutal, try talking to him in person!

I porbably should have reworded that and checked my spelling! Mattson's catering to HS sports is what made him in this market.
Personally I dont follow HS sports unless a Bradley recruit is involved, so I would switch the channel when it was time for Mattson.
