FWIW, the Peoria Civic Center is currently available for the first three rounds of the CBI. However, only the date for the opening game of the championship series is available as the Rivermen are playing on the other two nights.???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

Heck, even Fox Sports mentions the NIT even if they have nothing to actually do with running or covering it.

All they care about is advertising what they broadcast, so inherently there is a conflict of interest and a lack of objectivity. That's why generally I refuse to watch the network and be told what to think and what to like.
ESPN is also creating a website for Chicago/Illinois-only sports so they don't have to waste time on it on their flagship site. To me, that's finally admitting that they don't care about anything outside of the eastern seaboard.

As a side-note, how much do people think the economy will play into schools participating in these tournaments? It seems like most schools have a pretty tight budget right now and I remember that some schools turned down the CBI for financial reasons last year.

We had this same discussion last year and it seemed pretty unanimous that nobody would brag about Bradley being the CBI Runner-up. As long as people maintain that perspective, then it's only a good thing because it gives underclassmen more experience that they otherwise wouldn't get.
