  • Are the Braves in the Big Dance?

Have the Braves done enough to get into the Big Dance? I know it all depends on what happens from here out in the other conferences but if you were on the selection commity would you put the Braves in?

They are good enough to make the field, but they sure picked a lousy time to stink up the Savvis Center on national TV! It was only for a half, but SIU did everything right to help their cause, and we had no answer for it. At this point, I saw no, we don't make it. I think we'll be on Joe Lunardi's dreaded "last 4 out" list next week.

Before the game I thought that SIU and Bradley were fighting for the same spot in the NCAA tourney....again I hope I'm wrong!

I thought the same thing too. Missouri State's RPI is too good to keep them out. UNI has a nice non-conference schedule, and they played well against it too. Bradley and Creighton will be NIT bound, but we could both get decent seeds which translate to a first round bye and a home game.

On ESPN after the game, he indicated that MSU is in real danger of not going to the NCAA and might be the highest RPI team ever to not be invited.

I do think BU makes it -- the 2nd half of the season is too strong to leave out. SIU and WSU are in and I think UNI gets the nod over Creighton. I can't imangine more than 4 teams go from the MVC even though 6 have the credentials.

If you look at the head-to-head play between these 6 MVC teams, including tournament results, the order of finish based on winning pct is: SIU (8-4), WSU (6-5), BU (7-6), CU (5-6), UNI (5-7), and MSU (4-7)

He has the Salukis playing Kentucky. How sweet would that be for SIU's recruiting in KY if they pull off that win.

I think Bradley will come out of the loss vs. Southern in the high thirties... They won't be left out with an RPI up there, I don't think.

I've been saying since the UNI beat down that BU needed to win 2 games in St. Louis.....and they did! I think they're in the dance, and many people from opposing teams in St. Louis told me the same thing.

ya, realtime rpi at 32 and sos at 49 with a surging end to the season, they'll be tough to leave completely out

BU just got a buncha love from ESPNs College Game Night after the Gonzaga win. I was afraid our buzz would die with the bad game against Southern. The guys on ESPN barely mentioned and instead noted Bradley's excellent record against teams 1-50, RPI and SOS.

We're in!!! We definetly played our way in there. Joe Lunardi of ESPN has us as a lock, he said so on sportscenter this morning. He claimes that Southern is the Auto bid, Wichita St. is the next lock, Then Bradley, then UNI. Those 4 were locks for him. He said his bubble teams are MS and Creighton and they were gonna have a long week ahead of them as they wait for selection sunday.

As the selection committee looks at the teams, they will
note the injuries at Creighton. I believe that with 2 starters
out Creighton will be bypassed. This can't hurt Bradley at
all. One teams loss is another teams gain!
I say we get in between a 9 and 12 seed.
