No kidding. They should have ref trading cards and fantasy referee leagues with all those stats they keep track of.

ya, that'd be great. if they kept points for fouls per second, i'd pick up Tim Kurkjian and Scott Skiles first 2 picks

        LOL!

When I saw BuB55's link of a pic... I knew right away he was talking about Sanzere. Nice job BuB55 for the "look-alike".

So I googled Mike Sanzere to get a pick and the link I provided was like the first one.

And yea... I surfed around that place too. Very cool link.

And I found it by accident - kinda. LOL!

Yeah, I wonder if the statsheet.com stuff is accurate.. Will have to compare with the official game records a bit. If they're even close to accurate they give you a ton of info right there on like everything. More than just the refs.

I saw ONE OBVIOUS charge tonite when Peter Vanturgronousorgerontaagen (sp) turned and took a full couple steps and leveled TW.....stone cold obvious and it was called.

The charges that I hate are when there is body contact by both players allready THEN the offensive player makes a move to the basket and the D guy falls down like the Collins play.

Now if the O guy hooks the D guy or uses a hard elbow to the chin or chest to clear him out...foul....but just two bodies fighting for position is NOT a charge when the D guy falls.

You must be losing your memory because the charge/flop has always been a part of the game.

Who will be officiating in StL? Will DE get the good old valley refs. or try to upgrade for arch madness. It would be wonderful if we could get some Big East or even Big Ten guy for this big event. I would like our chances if we had big time officials, guys that would let the players decide the outcome and not ruin this event with their whistles...

I'd be willing to put alot of money on Sanzerre, Higgins, J.D. Collins, Paul Janssen, Tom O'Neill, and maybe guys like Ted Hilary and Ed Hightower. I assume Hartzell won't be there at all since I am pretty sure he still can't do UNI games since he USED to be their AD. Those are just off the top of my head...

I'm not sure who's been calling them for the last couple of years, but I do feel like in general they're called "better" than regular-season MVC games.

That's not correct. I believe flopping became an art when legendary high school coach, Dawdy Hawkins, coached the Pekin Chinks to the state championship in 1967. Their best player was golden at it.

all sports have flops; soccer, bball, footbal, etc. acting is a part of sports now adays. and i loved when divac flopped. it doesnt matter if the team hadnt crossed half court yet for offense while he was on defense, he would already be ready to flop and go the other way with or without contact! haha

At least in soccer they found that flopping was taking away the flow from the game so if you are found to have flopped you'll get a yellow card at least. Until they start Ting up or accessing fouls for flopping, it will continue. I just wish though the refs would at least only call fouls when there really is some body contact. Some of these guys go down with barely a finger nail grazing them.

There's also a rule in basketball that a fake flop can be called as a technical, but that's one I have NEVER seen called, ever!
Uh-oh T... You just jinxed us... we're gonna lose a game over a supposed fake flop that gets called as a technical. I'm blaming you in advance.
