  • Valley Goes 7-3 in BracketBuster

7-3 with only ISU, SIU, and UNI falling....all on the road.

    a few comments....

SIU certainly can't whine about being undermanned or having a short bench, as UIC played only 51 minutes off the bench, compared to SIU's 54.
Kevin Dillard had a good game, but took16 shots (12 3-pointers) and uncharacteristically went to the line zero times.
Fay was 6-12 but took four of his shots (1-4) from beyond the arc...where he hits 32%.
But SIU shot poorly again, hitting only 37% (23-61) and 29.6% from 3-pt (8-27)
compared to 42% and 46% for UIC.
And it looks like the refs didn't let SIU get away with hacking and fouling on defense...
UIC fouled 18 times, SIU 23, and UIC spent more time at the FT line, 21-29 compared to 13-15

Booker Woodfox moves into the top spot nationallly in 3-pt shooting by going 8-10 and 5-6 from beyond the arc!!
This pretty much seals him as the lead contender now for POY.

Kyle Weems hit a buzzer beater to carry MSU over Tenn-Martin 79-77

    Drake outrebounded Austin Peay 45-25!

Evansville outscored Miami 40-21 in the 2nd half!

When the new RPI's come out...it appears Bradley could be in the Top 100 in BOTH RPI and Strength of Schedule.

This year is a great example of how important the Bracketbuster can be for us. The Valley has moved back up to 9th overall and are not that far behind 8th place behind the Atlantic 10. Creighton broke into the top 50 in the RPI, and everyone's RPI outside of SIU's has improved, including our top 100 showing. So a win at Evansville would be huge if we can get it.

I agree. I don't understand those that rant against our participation in the BB. I don't think the BB will help the Valley get an at large this year but truthfully that is the Valley's own darn fault. We have not won enough games against good competition this season.

I like the Bracketbuster because it gives you a chance to get games against opponents that are from all over the country and it gives us good exposure, in order for us to get a games against a higher ranking opponent we need to do a better job of winning games.
