In the business world a guy called Bill Gates left college early way before his parents thought he should and look how things turned out for him. College is suppose to be a vehicle to teach you on how to make a living better then the next guy and if it takes you 2 years well who needs a diploma?

I do not think there is a poster on this subject that believes that playing an extra year or two at BU would not have helped POB make the jump physically but the real issue is would you want to role the dice in his situation and leave a million plus on the table. I for one was writing up threads that he should have followed the Tim Duncan school of thought but let's not carry away, a few cool million in the bank feels so much better then a possible few millions in 2 years. Now that is having a sense of reality."Educate and inform the whole mass of the people...they are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."

Ignoring the staggering opportunity cost and risk you take for injuries or poor performance by playing your last two years in college, even just the cost of money of waiting two years on a contract like POB got goes some way towards justifying his early departure.

Reality....hmmm...do I take a couple of million for a couple of years right now.....or stay in school and maybe get that chance again.....
reality tells me take the money NOW.....put it away and if I don't make it.....go back to school and get my degree.....live off the money I put away....and work a job I love...Peoria Toyota Scion

Not only is Patrick O'Bryant getting playing time, but he got the start tonight against the Pacers alongside Parker, Calderon, Bosh, and Marion. He's played about 10 minutes with 6 points, a rebound, and a block.... but 4 fouls. This is just the tip of the iceberg...

Two Bradley Braves starting in the same NBA lineup--is that a first?
