How do I turn off these freaking smilies

Bradley should feel good about having some type of postseason, but the NIT is probably too much of a longshot right now. The MVC should send 5 total postseason teams, maybe 6.

As you can see, for Creighton, there's a mess of mediocre BCS teams in their way. They'll absorb more losses, so keep winning, Creighton. You can see a pretty defined group of mediocre BCS teams to root against down the stretch.

      Break it down!

      Big Televen 7
      Big East 7
      ACC 7
      SEC 5
      Big 12 5
      Pac 10 5
      MWC 4
      A-10 2

      If held at gunpoint:

I'd say the Big 10 loses one (a couple too many bubble teams)
The Big East gains one (many bubble teams on the wrong side right now, odds are someone plays their way in)
ACC holds at 7 - the odds of Maryland or Miami playing their way in equals the odds BC and VT plays their way out
SEC, BIg 12, and Pac 10 all with 5. Big 12 has 4 locks and several marginal teams - odds are one break through the rest fall. Pac 10 could get to 6 with USC. The SEC will get 5 and I won't like it.
The MWC probably loses either UNLV or SDSU
Mid majors gain 1 at large berth - law of averages say one of Gonzaga, Butler, Davidson, and Siena will use an at large berth. I'll say nay on St Mary's.

Not sure if there is anyway to turn them off. You just have to leave an extra space when making an eight next to a ")". 8+) is ... 8 -space- ) is 8 )

If that makes any sense, it might help.

Michigan loses. Let's give Penn St their spot.

Stick a fork in Michigan, they're done. And in a rare occurrence, Penn State makes the tournament.

I already don't like my inclusion of Oklahoma St, but I can't figure out for the life of me who deserves that at-large spot in place of them. Ditto San Diego St.

Do I have to do the unthinkable and put Maryland in?

Usually, about 2-3 bubble spots a year disappear during conference tourney season, so this problem will probably go away.

Visit ESPN for live scores, highlights and sports news. Stream exclusive games on ESPN+ and play fantasy sports.

Lunardi's is useless today. Over the weekend, the NCAA barged into ESPN and held a mock selection committee like they did twice already this year, including one with Wessler.

So for the love of God, don't riot when you see Georgetown as a 9 and Notre Dame in too.

Looks like this year will be the all-chalk BCS Invitational, Round 2 (last year being Round 1). I can't wait!

Yea... this tourney is gonna stink. And this is what the BCS, CBS, ESPN, etc want? A bunch of unexcited fans. Those excited are mostly band-wagon fans of their closest BCS school. Oh well... at least there is Fantasy Baseball to look forward to... I guess. And I don't even watch ANY baseball. LOL!

Hopefully this is the year everyone realizes the true enemy here are the scheudling practices of the BCS teams, not the selection committee. There's not much the selection committee CAN do this year for mid majors even if they wanted to.

Those bandwagon fans add up, though. All the fairweather fans. They probably outnumber the mid major fans, just because of sheer size and name-brand popularity.

                          So they're happy.

ESPN is greatly scaling back their college basketball coverage, so perhaps they aren't out there in droves like everyone thinks. The all-chalk BCS Tournament is boring, and everyone knows it. The ratings the last two years bear this out. But I do agree, there aren't the compelling mid-major arguments this year that there have been in the past. It makes the injustices of the past that much greater, as this year only adds fuel to the BCS fire.

If ESPN is scaling back their coverage, they won't invest anything in the mid majors - that'll be their first cut.

Everyone talks about ratings and how the tournament is boring with all BCS teams. I look more towards fairness - is it a true championship? Did every program receive a fair shot at making the field of 65? Ratings and less boredom shouldn't be used as the argument for including more mid-majors in the tournament. The ability to win should be.

This is becoming a slow transition to the BCS system currently in football. Start pooling all the money together and divide it less and less each time.

Thats what I used to do, too! Cant stand baseball actually (*ignoring all boo's*), but Fantasy Baseball is quite entertaining... and gives me a reason to focus on some ESPN over the summer
