Do the Bradley players play in any summer league?
Drake, Iowa, ISU, and UNI players all play in either the Capitol City League or the Prime Time League.
So far reports have Klayton Korver making a good comeback.

In the past, incoming freshmen/JUCO transfers played in the Hersey Hawkins Summer League at the RiverPlex. However, due to circumstances this year (athletes not being on campus til July, disassociation with team sponsor Star Transport), they did not play this summer.

This collegehoopsnet.com Top 144 is turning into an absolute comedy.

I hardly even need to comment on most of their selections, but the last dozen or so picks since they chose BU at #120 are:

          #108: IUPUI Jaguars
          #109: Arizona State
          #110: Seton Hall Pirates
          #111: Pacific Tigers
          #112: High Point Panthers
          #113: Auburn Tigers
          #114: Hawaii Rainbows
          #115: UNC Wilmington Seahawks
          #116: Arkansas Little Rock Trojans
          #117: Sam Houston State Bearkats
          #118: Providence Friars
          #119: Murray State Racers
          #120: Bradley Braves

I won't pick a bone with any of the BCS teams as their RPI's alone at least give them a shot at getting into the Top 120 or so.

          But IUPUI??
          Come on!
IUPUI's RPI's have been 158, 170, 141, 160, 195, 251, 302, and 271 over the past 8 years. They have 115 losses over those 8 years (average of 13-14 per year) and have never had less than double digit losses despite playing in the woefully weak Mid-Con.
They lost twice down the stretch last year to Chicago State and to Southern Utah and didn't beat a single team whose RPI was under 130.

But these CHN guys have them picked TO WIN the Mid Con and go to the NCAA, as if they had Greg Oden coming in to help this season. Sadly the only player they seem to think will move in to help is Fred Kounkorgo, a transfer from Hartford and Connors State before that.
I will change my avatar to the collegehoopsnet logo for a year if that happens AND their RPI is under 110.

collegehoopsnet has worked their way down to their

#95 team and it is the 6th place team in the Valley--the Drake Bulldogs

Drake finished 5-13 in the conference last year and faded mightily at the end of the season.
They hope to have Klayton Korver back this year, but it might be possible that his injury and surgery have slowed him a bit.

But, many of you will recall the hype we were subjected to last year as some were saying Drake would be in the hunt for the Valley title, and even one major service (cbssportsline) selected Ajay Calvin as NOY and 1st team All Conference.
Sure Drake might just fool everyone, but I will believe it when I see it.

By the way, Drake dumped that old Bulldog logo and now has
a completely new one as of 2005-- but they use the old one.

They had previously selected Bradley at #120, the 7th place team in the Valley.

I bet you can't find even one quote from anywhere that would corroborate this statement. The team was picked for 7th in the MVC, and that was before anybody knew Korver would miss the season. Not even the most optimistic Drake fans that I know predicted DU to be a contender last season.

don't remember drake being mentioned as a contender last season. they were bad last year and will be bad again this season. i will be shocked if we don't finish ahead of them in the valley.

I don't recall anyone on this board suggesting Drake actually could contend for the lead, but I do remember there were complimentary things said here that they could be better than predicted. Unfortunately, a late season dive dropped them into a tie for 7th.

But here was one thread where Drake was discussed, and even DUBulldog said they would surprise people. Scroll to the bottom of the page.

big difference between being improved and be able to surprise some people, compared to contending for the valley title. let me be the first to predict that drake will not contend for the valley title this upcoming season. if fact bu will finish higher than the bulldogs.

                              Speaking of Drake

                              Speaking of Drake.............

I remember being at The Fieldhouse as a kid for a game against Drake in the early 70's (somewhere between '72-'75 I think) where BU was up by eleven with 33 seconds to go and we lost!

Does anyone else remember this, and am I correct in my memory about it being an eleven point spread with 33 seconds to go? (of course I also remember a game where we were up 28-0 on New Mexico State and still lost the game by about 20 ).

DU Bulldog, I don't want to get into an argument, and Drake fans have every reason to be upbeat with the players returning.
And I am not going to link to other boards, but there are still discussion up on the Drake board touting AC for NOY, predicting that Drake would be in the upper division, and predicting that Drake would season sweep Bradley because of the "Les Factor".
And there were posts on Valleytalk fitting the description I said.

I wish the Bulldogs great success this year, but it seemed the more experience all the players got with Dr. Tom's system, the worse they got and the more Dr. Tom got frustrated and even said so, benching some starters.
They lost 11 of their final 12 games, and early in the season they took Boston College to the wire on the road.
                                So what happened?

But where BU put it all together and made a season ending run, Drake faded. I think Drake needs new blood at the helm, but they have already handcuffed themselves for years to come with their contracts.
