I think Taylor is still growing, probably a little taller than 6-6 now He certainly plays big, I always look forward to him coming into the game.

Talking to my friends in the ticket office, apparently it helped that it was Siblings weekend on campus. From what they told me, a lot of parents went and bought tickets for them and their kids which is why there was more people than we expected for a game against Evansville at 1:05. Was a great crowd though and I loved seeing the stadium erupt after the Alley Oop to CR. That should have been on College Game Night along with Theron's dunk which was like somebody else already posted.

Regardless I am in agreement with Guinness. They shot 53% from the field got to the line a lot and we gave up 79 points 46 in the second half.

I am estatic we won, I am not being negative but we gave up 79 point to Evansville at home.

Very happy we won, but giving up nearly 80 points to a team that makes 3 3pointers. is not, atleast in my mind a great effort defensively. Might have been a fun one to watch, but defensively, to an undersized team, not even close to acceptable for a team that is susposed to have had defense as a point of emphasis this season.

Most any game against almost any team I would agree with you on this. Giving up 79 points to anybody in the MVC is to many....but....the way that game was called in the second half with all the fouls being called, it gave E'ville a lot of trips to the line. They scored 22 points from free throws and not "out of their offense." I know this does not totally excuse some of the defensive mistakes the Braves made but it does ease my concern about BU's overall defense in this game....just my 2 cents worth...

I really like the videos bradleyhoops/PJ Star has been putting up. Usually a very good camera angle to see what's up. Unfortunately they didn't get or didn't use CR's ridiculous dunk. However, for those who'd like to review his play at the end of the game, they did manage to get and use that one.

It is good to see CR playing well again, he will definitely be needed for the tournament. Now it would be in BU's best interest to get DN going before the tournament starts. Inevitably he will have to log a good amount of minutes to keep everyone else fresh. You need everyone in a 3 day tournament.

Taylor Brown will never play as a '3' in this offense. He doesn't have an outside shot and doesn't handle the ball well. His skill set is perfectly suited to the 4 spot on this team....
He will, hopefully, fill most of the minutes that Theron is getting this year...and I think he'll be very effective if he can work on his midrange jump shot and his free throws.
Prosser is the only recruit coming in that could see time in the post...which means I think you'll see some combination of Will, Prosser, and AT at the 5 next year...and who knows what to expect out of that combo...you've got an injury and two totally inexperienced D-1 guys looking to play the post next year...could work out great, could be a disaster....we'll see.

I understand the huge amount of free throws for Evansville but even to allow 53% from the field and a total of 57 scored points just on field goals is not a good situation. If we just took field goals and points off them they win 57-56.

We allow an average of .425% from the field, giving up 53% from the field to Evansville at home is not very encouraging. Infact I am the more I look at the numbers a little discouraged about our defensive effort on Saturday.

Well, we weren't winning with defense the 4 games before that because our offense was pathetic. I'd rather overplay on defense and get offense off the defense as well as change our offensive mentality a bit to complement our defense and actually score points.

And that is fine as long as you continue to shoot over 50% from the field and get to the line over 30 times. Until then I would prefer we didnt allow a team on our home court to shoot 53% from the field. Especially one that averages 44% from the field for the season.

I love creating offense with defense and it is very important with the type of team JL wants to impliment. But in the Valley where every possession is important, most nights you are not going to get run out off of steals as often as you are going to get rebounds and be forced to move the ball up court and set up a designed offense.

BTW that defense only produced 8 Eville turnovers.

Also, most nights you are not going to score 30 points from the free throw line.

I am just pointing out that we allowed way to many field goals v Evansville and though it was nice to win the game, our defense, which is supposed to be our calling card was not good enough on Saturday.

I agree with all you have said here, htb. The win was great and we will take it but allowing 79 points is not a great defensive effort. But a win is a win and I will be looking to and hoping we can win tomorrow night. Got to win at home and got to win out!
