Creighton DOES NOT control their own destiny. UNI and ISU do...if either of them wins out, they will be the 1 seed. The only way Creighton gets the 1 seed is if they win out and UNI loses at least once.

What how does ISU hold their own destiny and CU doesn't with that logic?

If CU wins out they will be in first...

let's face it ISU needs to CU to LOSE that game more than ISU needs to win...can we all agree CU should not lose to ISU in Omaha? ISU is banking on a CU collapse hence ISU is relying on CU's destiny...ISU has zero control. If CU shows up against the redbirds it's over. ISU hasn't proven once that they are a good road team this year.

What I'm trying to say is...ISU do what you gotta do...but if CU does its thing...then you CANNOT do anything about....CU has it (first) in the bag right now...it's theirs for the taking...that is MY definition of they control their own destiny...ISU has to fight and hope CU drops the ball...that's not controlling their destiny what so ever.

        No one is debating that.

The debate is over the #1 seed.

Creighton does not control their own destiny there. ISU and UNI do. It's pretty simple.

And that is EXACTLY what was said here:

Boy, oh boy. Looks like the ISU/Creighton game is gonna be the deciding game. Forget about the other games. That's the only one to focus on.

That makes more sense...I misinterpreted it the first time.

I still don't really think ISU controls their own destiny though I know they are playing each other and therefore the whole "if ISU wins out they will be in first thing" is indeed correct but I can spin it the way you are spinning the CU/UNI thing in saying that ISU needs CU to lose (neglecting the fact that the loss would be to ISU) if you know what I'm saying.

W/E let's just see who wins, and I stand by statement about ISU hasn't really proven much on the road....and I'll be sure to tell those teams you mentioned haha

Most people would define "controlling their own destiny" as winning the games on THEIR schedule and NOT needing help from others. If you want to spin that some other way, go for it.

ISU is 4-4 on the road in conference. With 1 game to play. That isn't great, but it also isn't terrible either. BU for example is 3-5 on the road with 1 to play.

Yeah I know...I never said in this thread ISU has proven nothing on the road and BU has proven everything..

"Most people would define "controlling their own destiny" as winning the games on THEIR schedule and NOT needing help from others."

EXACTLY what I'm saying...people (including yourself) are saying that CU doesn't control it's own destiny because it needs UNI to lose....what I'm saying is well ISU doesn't control it's own destiny either because you guys need CU to lose and UNI

but it's whatever I understand what you are saying....because ISU plays both UNI and CU they control their destiny yada yada haha

I was just trying to spin it because in reality I don't think ISU can win the game in Omaha and I think an ISU victory there would be more so of a CU loss rather than and ISU win. That was my whole point....that's all

It should be a good game good luck to the birds enjoy the time at the top but I'll be rooting for CU no offense

I thought I'd update point totals after the games tonight. I'm not sure this is entirely 100% accurate, I'm a COM major afterall... but I think it should be right.

                  Northern Iowa - 123 (8 )

                  Illinois State - 98 (19)
                  Bradley - 62 (17)
                  Wichita State - 77 (5)
                  Drake - 72 (18 )
                  Evansville - 42 (32)
