My concern from last nights game was the turnovers again in the guts of the game. Probably from being young. Also, the defense down the end was not very good. BU has at least 1 player who gives up more points than he brings, because he is too slow to play good defense.

And the box score in the paper today said Creighton was leading at the half 39-37.???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

Here are my thoughts on the game--not that anyone asked
The game of basketball is pretty simple really. First, the team with better players almost always wins, especially at home. Second, when you make shots you look good. When you dont make shots you dont look so good.
First half--BU six threes, 57% shooting. Second half--BU zero threes and 30% shooting. Meanwhile CU shot over 50% for the game.
Bradley didn't make shots in the second half. Thats the difference. We can talk till we are red in the face about the other stuff but, really, its simple. Make shots.
I like how hard the team played. I liked the much more aggressive offensive approach. I liked the pressure defense. But, in the end, Creighton has better players and BU doesn't shoot the ball well enough to win with any type of consistency.
That isn't going to change the rest of the year. At this stage of things the team is what it is.

Well....we sure went into a funk...JL calls timeout after CU gets up by 8 and we come back to take the lead and then it all fell apart..
CR and DN had good games. Sam M vanished in the second half
TW...not sure what's going on there... 6 turnovers?
CU is deep and because of that will end the tourney in St. Louis
Woodfox was fairly productive with 18 pts in 22 minutes....

It seems like we aren't recruiting the right bigs if we are getting "every ounce we can" out of DC and AT. Either that or we just aren't working them in correctly. It's a little too late for DC and I'm hoping it isn't for AT.There is no team in the the MVC that can match up to us the whole game, if our bigs come to play! BU will win the the MVC this year!

My main concern is that with the size we have coming in over the next couple of years, we do not have anyone who knows how to coach these guys and make them better. DC has not improved in his time at BU IMO. I realize he is doing his best and I love the kid but the honest truth is he hasn't gotten much better than the first time he stepped on the floor at BU. I have never seen a BU practice but my guess is we really lack a coach that can teach our big guys the art of playing the 5 spot. You have to have some sort of an inside threat to free up shooters on the outside...right now we do not have that."Losers find an excuse...winners find a way" - Joe Stowell

TW and Sam M had 10 turnovers between them.....I know Sam is only a soph but he's played around 60 games or so now...so I don't know that being young is that great of excuse in that area

I would chalk up TW last night to a bad night. Not much else to say there.
And yes, Woodfox was just "slightly" good last night!

I think we played a decent (very good at times) game last night, but decent is not going to get it done. It is hard to stay positive when Coach keeps going with the same philosophy and depending on the same players.
If this philosophy and the players that coach has anointed as the ???go to??? were getting it done, nothing could be said. But the fact is that it is not working. We need some "CHANGE," before it is too late. What is the worst that could happen, we have already lost four in a row, one more to see what happens won??™t hurt. I would not be concerned about seeding right now. The seed won??™t matter, if something doesn??™t ???CHANGE.???

In response to a question that has since been deleted by the poster-
There were a few posts removed for the reason that they crossed the line with personal attacks directed toward one of the players.
That is one of our rules, and it always has been. It's OK to criticize a player's performance in a game, but we will remove posts like "waste of scholarship" or "not a Division I player", etc, that attack a player personally.
And if anyone has any questions about moderating, please PM me, and not post your question on the board.
