I am not saying this would be our starting lineup but I would use this combination when we played mostly a zone defense, it would give us a better chance at scoring more inside and also a better rebounding team.
Our 3 guard system is not working because we are not a consistent 3 pt. shooting team and we do not have big guards so it is hard for them to shoot over their defenders.
I agree with this lineup if we are going to play a slow style of game...

If we are going to play an up tempo game I believe the lineup should be

    EM or DN
    DD
    CR
    TW
    DC

This lineup if coached the right way could allow us to play somewhat like Memphis. Defense should create our offense, and fast breaking and open court play should be stressed, to try and create as many easy buckets as we can get. We should be in attack mode the entire game.

This is what I thought was being described at the start of the season. With the athletes we have.... we should not have to resort to a grind it out type of game, which it appears we are going to. For players to consistently attack, they must feel they are trusted, because in any attacking style offense, there will be mistakes.

If they did this they would be in violation of NCAA rules. There are guidelines set by the NCAA on how many hours a team can practice.

And I am for the lineup that plays the best in each game. That seems to change every game, and I think the coaches are the best people suited to decide this.

Is this true for high school as well? Because I remember getting to run every day for hours on end after a loss.

I guess there's no rules for requiring basketball players to wear football pads for a full-contact practice

Sam was awesome when he wore his mask!

"Who would win a rugby match, "Dikka" or Sam Singh with one arm tied behind his back?"
"Is Sam Singh wearing his mask?"
              "Sing's wearin' the mask"
              "Saaaaaaaaam Singh!"

This was for soccer. I just wondered because College sports are definitely more intense than High School. Does crap like that still happen?

My question is why would AT want to stay at BU when he is clearly not given a chance by this staff. Next year Egolf (assuming hes ready to start to season) will be ahead of AT on the depth chart. I would also assume that Prosser will be ahead of him as well, and since we can't play more than 1 big at a time for some reason it doesnt look like AT will see the court unless it is in another uniform
I happen to agree. DC plays 12 minutes and ends up with 5 fouls, 2 points, and 1 rebound. Yet, AT isn't good enough to even see the floor! I seriously doubt AT is "the best big since POB". Something just doesn't make sense here. He is either that good and apparently doesn't practice very good, therefore not getting any playing time or he was over-hyped and possibly shouldn't have been recruited in the first place.
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

I think the quote was "most offensively skilled big man since POB." That does leave a lot open-- defense, hustle, basketball IQ, stamina. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see him getting more minutes... But, I have to believe his absence is warranted.

                        Ditto that, Fish.

I have to think that Jim (even if he says PT is based on practice) would have him out there more if he felt it would help win games.

C'mon now guys - JL isn't trying to sabotage himself. AT will play when/if AT is ready.

Yeah, I think JL is trying to win games this year (and with the bad news at ISU, the league just got a little easier to succeed in)... Which is what we want. AT has looked the full range in his limited time. From pretty good to pretty bad. I think SS and DC play because they give us the best chance to win games. Both have their deficiencies and their positives... DC isn't as bad as some like to say, and in some games makes positive contributions.
