We could adjust everyones minutes at the 5 according to how well or poorly they play. ----and we would have some extra fouls to give to the MVC refs at the 5 spot----
Why do you think Coach Les isn't playing AT?

I agree, but not for the reason you are stating. It would not be appropriate for Coach Les to now try and turn to this kid to save the day. It is pretty difficult to create assist situations, with the way he has been playing (safe, just don't make a mistake).

If he was going to be given a chance at the point, this should have occurred much earlier in the season. From everything I have read about this kid, he has been described as strong with the ball, with the ability to get into the paint and create easy opportunities for others. This is something we could have definitely used last night.

We tried to pass our way into the zone, I seldom saw us penetrate gaps hard.

DC would have not seen the floor then and there have been a few games where he has done ok..

I am in the camp that Will was a difference maker to this team. WE would have been a matchup problem for just about every team in the MVC. I know that WE only played a couple of games this year, but WE was light years ahead of DC.imo Opposing teams played us differently when WE was in our lineup and that in turn opened up our offense. (as much as our offense could be opened up) I like AW a lot and know his loss this year hurt this team, but I really believe that Will's injury was a far greater loss to this team than AW.

I don't know for certain, but I would guess that JL does not have confidence in AT to give him minutes. That being said, last night was another game in which I think we could have put AT on the floor to get experience. DC wasnt getting anything done and was foul prone, AT could have stolen a couple of minutes here and there...and why not put AT in toward the end of the game?

This team is a poor shooting team as we have seen many times so far this year. Why not play big and push the ball inside. Once again AT needs to play the 4 with SS and move TW to the 3. Whats the problem here, someone got the little guy sindume
There is no team in the the MVC that can match up to us the whole game, if our bigs come to play! BU will win the the MVC this year!

All my lowered expectations were reached and I was not mad after the game. Things went according to exactly what was expected. I'm not mad after this loss. I'm in a good mood. I'm not posting a rant. Lowered expectations, the secret to happiness... just ask my wife.
I agree GTD. Actually at 10 minutes into the first half I said to my girlfriend "we'll be down by 10 at half and we'll never be able to make it up". I think I should start a new business...fortune telling. mwah haha haha

I fully agree with you. But the lack of playing time for AT in light of the fact that DC is (for the most part) very ineffective, makes you wonder.

                  Bradley story...
DES MOINES, Iowa ? Drake guard Josh Young scored a game-high 18 points and the Bulldogs (15-10, 6-7 MVC) rode an 18-5 run to close the first half to a 68-54 Missouri Valley Conference victory against visiting Bradley (13-11, 7-6 MVC) Saturday night at the Drake Knapp Center.? The result extended Bradley's losing streak to a season-long three games.

                  Box score....

After watching college basketball for 30+ years and having a roommate in college who was on a D1 team, it makes me think that Coach Les may think AT is not the player he thought and would like him to move on. ALL the signs are there. If he had a future, you would think he would at least get some playing time in blow-out games and during the end of other games that have been decided. Also, it's not like DC and SS are superstars... i.e., he should probably get some time during the core of the game. I would not be surpirsed if AT is not back next year. Just my opinion.

I'd guess the best speculation for a lack of AT playing time has to do with effort in practice. At this point, I don't think there's any other reasonable explanation. I don't think it's a confidence in his play issue, and I don't agree with GTD that Les is trying to run him out of town... But if the guy is dogging it in practice, then he won't see the floor. You can't let him or pretty soon the inmates will be running the asylum.

If he has less than adequate practice effort that would be just another reason to not want him around.

I think he is a project and is at least a year away and most likely 2 years away.

Now that's a project. Most likely 2 years away? That means he will be a senior before he contributes. Great recruiting effort there, huh? And people on this board get mad at recruiting JUCO guys...

Personally I do not care who plays at the 5 other then the fact we are recently getting nothing but fouls, turnovers, missed layups and bad productions out of the two who are getting the majority of the minutes Collins and Singh.

Les is not going to change the minutes, I think that is just how he is as a coach... not sure why you keep doing the samething night after night and expect to get a different result but JL sure is when it comes to the minutes Singh and Collins get. It makes no sense to see a guy constantly foul, be out of position and essentially be a 7 ft tall statue or a guy who can not make lay ups and gets posted up nightly and allows other 5's to score right out of the block, to continue to get heavy minutes.

I have no idea what Thompson or Brown do or dont do in practice but I see every night what Collins and Singh bring and its enough to make me think that they are not worthy of the number of minutes each get on a nightly basis.

But Les will not change the course so I expect us to continue to get the same results from that position, inconsistancy at best.
