TW is a good player, but if he is the POY in the MVC then the MVC is really down. Well, come to think of it the MVC is way down this year.

His defense has gotten 100x better as well. He is our best lock down defender this year.

Now I am not saying he should be the POY or anything... just refuting the fact that numbers are "down".

Edit: He is also 5th in the league is scoring... forgot that...

I too believe O's defense has made a complete turnaround. He did very well on Dunson in the ISU-BU game. He's become a lot more physical and is good at doing his work on players before they touch the ball making it hard for them to get in position to score. I personally believe he deserves POY. I think he was robbed of it last season.

I'm an Osiris fan for the way he plays not for his punk looks.

Adam Koch poy because UNI wins the league and I think he is their best player.

but I still think unless UNI falters badly, the POY will come from there.

respect the opinion and understand the strategy, but how do you give POY to a guy averaging 9-10 points per game? There has to be [I]some[I] individual accomplishment to go along with the old "important to the team" thingy.

With Northern iowa's disappointing loss at home to Drake last night, they have now fallen into a tie with Creighton for 1st place. The 2 UNI kids who were getting some attention as possible MVC Player of the Year candidates, Adam Koch and Kwadzo Ahelegbe had bad games. UNI has now lost 3 out of their last 4 games.

I think the frontrunner now for the POY award is my pick to win it- Booker Woodfox. He has been the most consistent player in the MVC, is 2nd in the MVC in scoring, and 1st in 3-point shooting at 50%, and has been Creighton's leader and best player all year.

Not to mention his All-name Team consideration.

No doubt. And they beat us when he was in street clothes, which is why I want nothing to do with them in St. Louis.

Theron is nice player, who can score around the rim, can play good denial defense and rebounds bigtime. He cant shoot it from outside of 15 feet but his biggest issue is turnovers.

It just is not likely to get serious consideration when you turn the ball over 38 time in 16 games 2.375 per conference game and 73 times overall for 2.7 per game. He has also turned it over in our last 4 games 17 times, when you need your senior to step up and lead he has in a few areas but taking care of ball he has hurt his team, especially recently.

Regardless, someone here had second team and defensive teams with Bryan Mullins on both. I am curious how a guy who has missed the last 5 conference games for his team and likely will miss the last 2.. 7 games out of 18 conference games can be seriously considered for any year end honors? I find it difficult to miss nearly half a season especially the last half of it and have any honors given. And on top of that his numbers, regardless of defensive perception, are not anywhere near all conference...9.7 pt per game 2.2 boards and yes very good assist number 5.6 but if he is considered all conference material with those numbers then Harry Marshall deserves equal consideration.

                        My first team is:

                        Sly Ely
                        Osiris Eldridge
                        Kwadzo Ahelegbe
                        Booker Woodfox
                        Champ Oguchi

                        Second
                        Jason Holsinger
                        P Allen Stinnett
                        Josh Young
                        Theron Wilson
                        Adam Koch

MVP of the league right now is Woodfox, but that last game v ISU might change things especially if O has a big night.

I know I am somewhat biased, but I really think Eldridge is the Player of the Year.

His offense might not be where Woodfox's is, but OE's defense is 2nd to none this year. Eldridge has become a very good lock down defender and he might very well win Defensive player of the year.

I would take his all-around game over Woodfox's scoring ability any day.

It should be a lot of fun. You have a chance to see the 4 of the top 10 players in the league in that game. As for the POY I would would have to go w/ big "O" only because I really believe that ISU wouldn't be as good w/o him. He will put the team on his shoulders from rebounding a ball (similar to TW) that seems impossible for him to get to scoring to throwing the great assist pass. Saying all of that I would say that BW probalby gets the award only because of CU's record in the Valley unless they fall apart in the last couple of games.

Booker is easily my favorite non-BU player in the MVC.
