  • Wow... feel like I got punched in the stomach.

That loss really really hurt. Not because it would have gained a game in the standings as opposed to losing a game (a TWO game swing). Not because it was a chance to defend our home turf and show that we are up there with the top teams in the valley. Not even because it would help me forget the ISU loss 3 days ago.

But because that game was ours. I could taste it, I was on the edge of my seat getting ready to celebrate. We played a great second half for 17 minutes. I was so excited, adrenaline, the whole 9 yards.

And then... 3 ... 3......3 .... they couldnt miss. We were up by what? 6? With about 1:40 to play? Like a sucker punch outta no where. When it was done I just had to stare at the computer for about 30 seconds in disbelief. Truly Heartbreaking. This will be tough for the team to overcome.

    Need a drink.

I feel almost as bad after this one as Drake last year. That was worse though.

Well the team needs to overcome this or we're looking at 7-7 really quick. Drake and Creighton are the two most schizophrenic teams in the league (especially Drake). Which Drake and which Creighton will we see? After what happened tonight, I'm convinced we'll see the really good Drake and the really good Creighton...we just don't get any breaks.

We pretty much need to just take care of business now. Need two big road wins to make up for these home losses.

          Won't happen...it's Bradley

Tulsa Brave is right on...we don't catch breaks...or maybe it's just our play brings out the best in other teams so therefore we're just good at that

Hehe, meltdown-mode for Bradleyguy10. Can't blame you, just not there yet myself. Give me a game or two to catch you.

Throw in the towel on the 08-09 season. On paper we should be the league favorite next year though.

I don't think anyone on Bradley's team is throwing in the towel. This was a loss to the clear #1 team in the league. They haven't lost any road games.
This loss is very disappointing, but doesn't hurt Bradley's chances in the MVC tournament that much. They just need to get back on track, and play for the best possible position to go into the tournament, and hope we get hot there. BU played nearly even with UNI in both games, but their superior outside shooting is what made the difference. I think we can beat them in STL. The tournament will be wide open.

I agree with DC there. I think this tournament is going to be insane... These kind of random league results and what appears to be a lot of "parity" in the MVC should make for a great MVCT. We stand about as good a shot as any at being hot down there.

I think we will split these two games. I have a great feeling about winning at Drake. If we do that, we still have a good shot at second place.

I hope we can... We really need to win both.

How? UNI returns virtually their whole team...they will be the overwhelming favorite. That doesn't mean they will win it however, as we see this year with Creighton.

I'm just hoping we can put ourselves in position for the NIT. The CBI is a nice "fall back" option, but the NIT would show that we progressed this year. If we don't win the Valley tourney, do you think 11 conference wins and a win at Loyola with our so-so RPI would get us into the NIT tournament?

I think if we finish 2 or 3 in the MVC then we will likely be invited to the NIT.

We need 12-6 and a win or 2 in St. Louis to be a serious NIT candidate.
