  • Mullins career could be over at SIU...

Another stress fracture? I hope that isn't the case.
That's really tough luck. If so, that is a big blow top their chances of coming back into the MVC race, and almost a death blow to their hopes of a postseason tournament.

Maybe Mullins has been playing too many minutes lately? He was just coming off the stress fracture in his left leg over the summer, and now has this one reportedly in the right foot.

Here are his minutes in each game, and he's played a lot-

This is a major blow. If SIU would win out we would be looking real good as regular season champs.

Too bad for Mullins. Never want to see that.

On a selfish side, we really could have used a SIU win oner isu. Now that gets more unlikely. Wait, that is if you consider injuries as having an impact on games.....

That's really too bad for Mullins. He's a good, tough player.

I do have to wonder about Coach Lowery on this one. Sure seemed like he took risks with Mullins last year, and then in our game at their place this season I thought he foolishly put an injured Booker back into the game (who limped off after his first play back).

If Mullins was asking for a day off he must have been hurting.
But they are really short handed and Mullins was still playing 36-37 minutes a game since then.

I hate to see anybody go down this late in their career, with no chance to recover in time to play. That's too bad. Tough situation for him and for SIU.

This all but assures the play-in game for the dogs. Now the #2 seed for BU is even more important as I still think with the home crowd, an 8-man saluki squad can beat ISU blue in the 7-10 game, but an 8 man SIU squad won't beat a BU on the next night!! This also means E-ville likely will get the 6, an opponent I'd also like to face if we slip to #3. I'd love for ISU Red to slip to 4-5 against the DRake with a 2-3 matchup of us and CU. We match up better with CU than we do ISU Red.

Drake has to make up 2 games on Evansville to pass them in the standings since Evansville swept them. Drake is a more likely 6 than Evansville right now.

Mullins says he thinks he can make a comeback and play before the year is over-
