Maybe someone who has seen him more can expound, but I would compare him a little to Robert Kreps who plays at UIC or someone like Chris Mroz who played at Bradley a few years ago. He could be good at low D1 or D2.

Kreps was a much better player in h.s. and more so once in college...

I wonder if Billy Molinari has any regional low-major D-1 connections.

He is a hard player to judge because of the competition that his team plays against , not sure if he is quick enough for most d-1 schools, if they go up against Manual then coaches will be able to have a better guage on if he can play at a higher level.

BillyMo has played against competition equal or even better than Manual already...during his AAU schedule.....any lack of quickness can be made up for with feel for the game and basketball smarts....

For those of you out there who have seen both Tyler Les and Molinari who has a the better probablity, without family influence, to play D1?

And does Eddie Matthews have a boy who is supposed to be very good?

I hope it's not with BU, let him go to WIU and show people his "basketball smarts".

I have seen them both several times.....BillyMo is a better scorer....both shoot very well...Mo is probably a little quicker, given Tylers foot problems (although I am not sure how they are currently)....but they are both very good players that will bring their teams some talent....

really? you think B Molinari can legitimately play D1??!?!??!!

First of all he is short for D1. he would have to play G, but he is not fast enough. He cannot guard anybody. Even atthis small school level he is not a good defender! Watch him play both ends and then judge. He is not a good ball handler. And you say he played AAU and stuff. Who cares, anybody can PLAY AAU, he struggled often against quickness and did not play well. He plays against very weak competition. Kreps played against a talented teams first of all if you want to compare them. But it is no comparison. Kreps in fast and athletic. Molinari is slow and unathletic. Kreps was a PG that can handle the ball. Molinari is not good against pressure. Molinaris only good attributes is shooting. I really hope BU does not waste any scholarship on him.

He is a good kid though. I always liked his father, and Im sure he molded Billy well. But being a good kid does not earn a player a D1 scholarship. Wake up guys, dominating Midland does not mean he can play D1.

he is a good shooter, but not great. only great shooters are in D1 if they are slow, unathletic, and shorter and white.

Thinks about, over the years at PCS there was Lavender and Nicolpolis who were both better than Molinari, and neither of them played D1 ball. so if they cant do it, how do you expect Molinari to?

                      Thank you very much,

if only people knew the game like I did, small school area basketball is not competitive and the talent is pathetic, yet people think teams like Midland are actually good.....

Billy will be a solid D3 player. And if his brother grows, maybe he could be a good player to since he a more athletic/quick version of billy.

NIcolopolis? You have got to be kidding. You obviously have no idea what you are talking about.

I watched Billy play a few years ago. At that time he did not take the ball to the rim hardly at all... left me with the impression that he wasn't good on the drive. Kreps impressed me a ton when I watched him play in the state tourney. Billy may be much better now as 2 years can make a big difference.

what do you mean I have to be kidding he was better than molinari, molinari a better shooter, but prospect wise think about it. Both at D1 level would have to be PGs most likely. both around same height now lets go through list

and each person i list as adv. is very good at each cateogry besides rebound and block

                            Dirbbling: Nickolpolis
                            Quickness: Nickolpolis
                            shooting: Molinari (includes FTs,3s)
Defense: Nickolpolis. was very good defender, can guard D1 players. Molinari cannot even guard 2A bball players
Lay-ups: Nickolpolis could shoot floaters better and get over big man better
                            court vision/assists: Nickolpolis
rebounding: equal I guess with lean towards Nickolpolis since Nickolpolis
                            could jump higher
                            steals: Nickolpolis
                            blocks: same thing as rebounding
Stand up guy: equal, never heard of problems from either

and i think u only say r u kidding for Nickolpolis, because every thing i listed as advantages holds for lavender as well.

Lefty you beat me to that one......if he thinks Nick is better than BillyMo...he has no clue......I won't cut down Nick cause he was a fine player and talented....but in my opinion Billy is better by quite a ways.....

If Lavender had exploded earlier in his High School career he would have had a better shot at D1......
