  • Georgia coach Dennis Felton.....

...is now ex-Georgia coach Dennis Felton. The firing of coaches is starting early this year. Valley coaches will probably not be as hot a commodity as in the past, but likely some will be mentioned for these jobe as the come available. I noticed that DePaul has said that Wainright will be back next year, so you can take them off the list.

I don't know that Lowery will be the flavor of the week this time around, simply because of his team's struggles this year. Dana is Dana, who the heck knows what he thinks. If ISU has a good finish, Jank's name will be thrown around.

I realize that JL is an alum and former player at BU, but loyalty only goes so far. As a fan, I would expect him to aspire to coach in one of the BCS conferences, just like Painter, Weber, Turgeon, McDermott, etc. These guys are very competitive, and it's to be expected. Plus, he would get a giant raise in to that 1 mil/year area, which would be hard to dismiss. Sure I hope he stays around, but I would wish him the best if takes another job. Bradley will get another good coach, they have in the past.

I just finished listening to the Rick Barnes radio show and he was commenting on the Felton firing. Felton worked with Barnes for 6 years as an assistant and he said that the AD at Georgia was last year before the Georgia run in the SEC tourney shopping Felton's job.

Barnes told Felton last season he should have quit knowing that the AD wanted him out and that Barnes would never work for an AD who opening was shopping a head coaching job.

He also made a very valid point in what is the point in firing someone right in the middle of the season. Better to just go to the head coach say look were going to make a change but its up to you if you want to continue through the end of the season.

Regardless Barnes was none to happy about how Georgia handled this situation, and sounds like it was never handled very professionally by the AD at Georgia for quite some time.
