".....you know, I'm really tiring of Bradley's end game antics. First 2 games in a row of intentional off the ball fouls to stop the game clock, and now jacked up 3's at the buzzer with double digit lead. Come on, win with some class. Jim Les is really starting to earn a bad reputation for poor sportsmanship, which is sad, because that's not really representative of Bradley in general...."
Oh whatever! If the same thing happened at their place at the urging of their crowd (the key point here), they would have done the same thing. It was nice of Les to apologize to Marshall, but that was more than he needed to do.
Who cares if Roberts essentially throws a 35 foot 3 up and it happens to go in.. I seriously think he just threw it up at the basket and thought the clock had gone off. But even if it did go in and he ment it to go in so what?
And this stuff about the intentional fouls... if anyone with any sense thought about it, why exactly would BU be a bad sport for committing an intentional foul with 22 seconds left in a game at UNI where they were down 3 at the time. Doing something like that at that moment intentionally would have been one of the dumbest things any team could have done.
It was not an intentional foul, infact it wasnt a foul. But if some whiney WSU fan thinks it was intentional and that makes us some sort of a punk team fine... it really doesnt matter we put you twice this year in the W column and your just that much closer to a reservation for Thursday night.
I guess their sleeping giant has fallen back to sleep.
I thought I heard there was free food on the line? That the number on the back of the ticket stub was 63 and we had 62 when he shot it. If I've got 9,000 fans telling me to shoot it so they can get a free burger or whatever, I'm going to shoot it. The pros do this sometimes and fans start screaming for that last shot. Congrats to Chris - you made 9,000+ fans happy
Say what you want about CR's 3 at the end of the game, but if I was Gregg Marshall, I'd have a lot more things to worry about, and be concerned with other than that meaningless 3 points at the end of the game. If I was in his position that last second shot would not bother me at all, why worry about it? I'm not saying I would have, or approve of hoisting up shots when you have secured a win, but I certainly don't think anyone should be upset about it either. MOVE ON!
We'd be saying the same thing if we were in their shoes. I've never liked it when someone throws up a shot at the last second when they aren't even defended. We've done it a few times this year and every time in my head I'm thinking "please don't shoot it". I don't really care if it was halfhearted....I'm not saying anything about CR...I'm sure he's got PLENTY of class, but the ball should not be going anywhere near the hoop in the last seconds of a game when the team is up by double digits. It's not a big thing...but sometimes it's the little things that count, and say a lot. It's just respect.

I agree, but if I had some action on a line that might make me a winner.....
Also, the majority of the problem is their lack in being able to get past the Tony Bennett shot that ended their run in 06 in the tournament as thats been their best shot to win the tournament.
It wasn't that big of a deal now nor will it be later on...it was a 12 point game made to 15....it wasn't like we were running and gunning at 4 minutes left and drawing the game up to 30...
Let it go Wichita, you lost....Head home and prepare for Saturday. Besides, if you people even knew half of what you are talking about, you'd know our coaches were all trying to get Chris' attention telling him not to shoot...
There are things that should be concerning you a lot more than Coach Les' class.
Oh, and thanks for bringing it up again Wichita fan....
I'll gladly think of Wichitard while I'm eating my steak dinner....Thanks C-Rob!
I say kudos to Chris for taking and making that last shot. No more unclassy than Wichita's Hawkins doing his little on court celebration after converting a shot he was fouled on. Seriously Hawkins? That was your 4th point of the GAME and it was the 2nd half!!!!!!
Was WSU still playing full-court D on the final Bradley possession?
NO, they didn't, it looked like they didn't think he'd shoot, because Coach Les was yelling not to shoot.
However, their starters were all i the game right until the buzzer, while BU had subs in the game and had pulled their starters.
In his post-game press conference, Gregg Marshall made a big deal out of the Roberts shot. He tried comparing it toi what happened to them at Creighton earlier in the year when CU ran a play for a lob-dunk at the end of a game with a 16 point lead.
Here is the account of that play (3rd segment)--
Sorry, Coach Marshall, this is not even close to running an organized play for a lob-dunk. It's just one guy launching an unlikely 25+ footer at the urging of the crowd, with the coaches yelling at him not to shoot.
By the way, the Creighton coaches never apologized for their team's actions like our coaches did.
Watch the video and hear what he say about the Wichita State program. He sounds like he had second thoughts after taking the WSU job, but now he is more hopeful.
