I have no problem with that...if the ref is so sensitive to that...then he shouldn't be calling the game.
BTW...sat right next to the WSU bench and Marshall complained about almost every BU stop on D. He seemed to think there was a foul on every play. In the first half he complained about a missed 3 second call for 5 minutes and even pulled a ref over during a ft situation to continue to complain about it. The ref said to him "Hey, I am reffing the game" and Marshall said "Well, you are not doing a very good job of it then"!
Many of the coaches are a little more discreet when complaining to the refs than JL.
Something about Marshall just bugs me......seems like a ying-yang to me...

Did anyone notice that about 10 mins into the 2nd half we had 3 freshman on the court in the heat of the game....I hope this bolds well for the future...TB-DN and EM should be playing like sophomores by tourney time with the early game experience! Plus on 3 to's in the 2nd half!

Great defense for most of the game. DD played very well. DC played a good game. Rebounding good but blocking out could be better. Good ball movement. Still not comfortable with the free throws and turnovers. Also, when teams press to take time off the clock, I wish we could make them pay for it more often, but our guards are young. Also, I see times when we break the press that we don't even look to take advantage. Players just relax and set up the offense. I would like to see BU attack and kisk it back out if nothing comes of it. This teams calling card is defense and I compliment the players and coaches for it, since I have been 1 of the biggest complainers about it."Let's make some noise".

The D was solid, and we were disturbing the passing lanes like crazy. It is hard to be happy with the offense because it still is iffy and we look lost at times, but we need to use the defense to create offense more. We can't consistently win a low-scoring, halfcourt game - we should have had more steals tonight and should not have slowed up on some fastbreak / mini-fastbreak opportunities.
That being said, we are really really young / inexperienced. We have a bright future, and it is surprising that we are 7-3 the way we struggle shooting, but that says a lot about our ability to stay in games.
And we need to throw it into wide open DC more often. I am a fan of his low-post shots.
Also, I wish TB would make one of his sweet dunks.

We see Coach Les working the Refs at home. Also at home, we see opponents in a tough arena to win in... and the coaches don't go "all out".
Maybe we live in a box and only see what we see.
Whenever I hear Coach Les riding the Refs he is trying to say something about the rules (and violations of rules). He will sometimes say things like "call it both ways" - or "what's he supposed to" (he held his position and put his hands up) . He might say things like "that was a bad call" but that is almost always followed by his explanation of his understanding of the rules. So it looks like he is jarring hard, but he is just trying to be heard (and discuss/challenge the interpretation of the rule).
Anyway, I think it would be neat to hit all the venues and observe behaviors of coaches. Unfortunately - that isn't in my budget for time or money.

I wish the students would start coming out to the games. There have been more open seats this season than I remember since the tourney run. From what I see, very few freshmen come to the games now, whereas that was the big thing my freshman year (the season after S16). The Indiana State game had a big student turnout, but tonight it was more like a break game than some of the turnouts we had in the past.
Come on students!!

BUBraves story.....
PEORIA, Ill. ? Junior guard Dodie Dunson scored a game-high 18 points and Bradley turned in another impressive defensive effort en route to a 65-50 Missouri Valley Conference home victory versus Wichita State (9-12, 3-7 MVC) Wednesday night at Carver Arena.? Bradley (13-8, 7-3 MVC) snapped Wichita State's three-game winning streak by limiting the visiting Shockers to 34.7 percent shooting from the field, including a 9-minute, 57-second stretch without a field goal in the first half.
PS....before tonights game SM was 22-24 on FTs in Valley play for .917%.....1st place and going 2-2 tonight from the line SM is now 24-26 for .923%.....so congrats to Sammy and I say give him the ball at the end of the games!

There were a couple big things on campus tonight. There was a "pageant" put on by one of the sororities, which is where almost all of the fraternity members were. My fraternity which usually has between 15 and 20 there had only 3.Walk on, Walk on
With hope in your hearts,
and You'll Never Walk Alone

All is well. I didn't have to worry about the prospect of a broken TV set after this game and that is how I am going to constitute a well officiated game from now on. Yeah, it wasn't a game that would be decided in the final minute but i thought it was called well.
