Deleted because it's 1984 around here sometimes.
Here's the deal, Wyoming for football, Bradley for basketball.

I mean that in a lighthearted fashion, by the way. It's great to have this forum.

I have no idea why it's called mecca, so I'm curious to know as well. Perhaps because of our high traffic volume and active fan base? E.g., they're jealous of us.

hate and bitterness come from within that person, not from somewhere else....
I meant nothing at you T.

I think it is funny how they hate you.

Yea, yea... there are times of double standards... but I like the double standard. Yea, I know sheeyat happens at every school. And I am not in favor of sweeping it under the rug. I am against glorifying it. Let the local rag do that - which they have always done and will continually do. So to counteract it, I enjoy reading and seeing the exploitation of all the other sheeyat that goes on elsewhere.

But now the fine line... this board doesn't allow the "trash" about Bradley. (which I like) But this board allows the trash about other schools. (which I like) But I don't act like nothing bad happens at Bradley.

I am sure Bradley and those I know at Bradley don't like the "dirty laundry" aired on an open forum. Let that stuff shake out at the PJStar board and watch those piranhas go into a frenzy. Just like they do at ValleyTalk. Just like they do at rival teams message boards.

I am pro-Bradley. I like to see pro-Bradley stuff. And because the local rag reports Bradley's bad stuff and fails to show in comparison how bad (and worse) stuff is elsewhere... I like how BradleyFans.com keeps reminding all of us about the bad stuff elsewhere.

It may be just me, but doesn't the thought of going to all this effort to rig a poll in a single thread on another message board a little weird? We're just giving them more fodder to trigger a board flamewar and to cause fan hostilities.

That's the level we are getting to. Not just on message boards but in society. I have a word for it.....

                      cpac,

This thing was clearly flawed from the get go. And most teams aren't going to vote for their own coach, and it was clear who the people were that were voting initially.

So BU fans get together and do some voting? Who cares?? Unless, of course, there's some sort of sense of pride in this poll and it has now ruined some excitement.

There are a good # of BU posters at valleytalk.

Is it because it was started by an ISU guy?

There is a 12 page thread at SalukiTalk titled "Bradley = Classless"

I don't think there is any pride in this poll either. It's for giggles and talk.
I didn't realize our team, coach, and fans were hated that much.....wow

I have nothing against a state education but why is it that all the flaming of BU come from people who went to state sponsored schools? Insecurities run really deep in society and I see no difference in these boards on how they manifest themselves. I do understand ISU's flaming because it is a fierce rivalry and most of it is in jest but the other school fans have me wondering if there is some anger issues with them.

If someone wants to start a poll I mean really who cares. But when they start one then in the opening post make note to say..."i know who ISU, SIU and UNI fans will vote for" its obvious the poll was done for ONE reason.....the guys as flamer.

If you allready know who most people are going to vote for...where is the need for a poll to find out? He was upset, and I can't really understand why, becuase BU was getting props for the being most prestigious program (most history) in the Valley. "I'll start a poll that will knock BU down and make me feel GOOD about myself again." Serious insecurity issues at work here.

Again....thats what we have come to expect from ISU fans, just go to the games and listen to the trash they spew.

I let people know about the poll and they picked their own choice to vote for.

anyway....who cares what they say on salukitalk....they bicker all the time and hate their own site and refer to BradleyFans as the
"Mecca" of Valley message boards.....so they really are somewhat astute in that regard even thought they do go to a public institution...
You do realize that the person who most perpetuates the title "Mecca" is in fact a proud bradley grad don't you? Just an FYI.
Dinma Odiakosa 6'8 255......The Nigerian Nightmare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 37 points and 27 boards in 2 wins over Bradley. "Will Egolf is 6'9 and he had 4 rebounds. That's not good enough and he's not good enough"....Dick Versace 2/9/10
