  • Ex-DePaul player arrested/trouble for 'Melo?

Tyler Smith, a high school legend in the state of Maryland, who signed to play college basketball at DePaul, but flunked out and never got on the court.
He then went to Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado, and just signed to play D-I ball at Colorado State.

Tyler Smith grew up in Baltimore and was a childhood friend of Carmelo Anthony, and has been living at Carmelo's home near Denver for the last couple years.

Well, Tyler was driving Carmelo's auto (Dodge Magnum) on Sunday and was stopped by police when seen to be driving erratically.
The police found marijuana on the dash console and arrested Smith for marijuana possession and several driving offenses.
Carmelo, who just signed an $80 million contract extension was not in the car, and the other two people who were in the car at the time were released and not charged.

This is not the first time Carmelo Anthony has been tied to a marijuana arrest.
In 2004, he was arrested for having a small amount of marijuana in his backpack as he was preparing to board an airliner in Denver.

Carmelo speaks out publicly about his friend's arrest, and he is not happy.
Hours before Denver Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony was expected to sign a contract extension, he had to defend his judgment for loaning his car to a friend who was pulled over and cited for marijuana possession.
