Here is a little news about the selection processes for the 2009 ESPNU BracketBusters Event on Friday-Saturday, February 20-21 --
ESPN will announce the television pairings for the 13-telecast package – 6 on ESPN2, 5 on ESPNU and 2 on ESPN360 – on Monday, February 2.
The actual dates, times and networks for those match-ups, though, will not be announced until Monday, February 9.
There is also information about something called Wildcard Weekend--
ESPN will make its men’s basketball selection on Thursday, February 5 for the Saturday, February 28 telecast. That game is slated to tip at 1:05 p.m. Central on ESPN2.
Once ESPN selects its telecast for that date, the league – working in conjunction with Fox Sports Midwest – will make its men’s basketball selection on February 5 for its February 28 telecast at 7:35 pm. Central on Fox Sports Midwest, Fox Sports Indiana, Fox Sports Kansas City and Comcast SportsNet Chicago.
Please remember that all five men’s games on February 28 – Drake @ Bradley; Evansville @ UNI; Illinois State @ Creighton; Missouri State @ Indiana State; Wichita State @ Southern Illinois – are eligible for consideration by ESPN and Fox Sports Midwest.
Institutional carriers, such as Comcast, can only air telecasts that are not selected by ESPN and Fox Sports Midwest for that date, and co-existence for a telecast will not be granted to an institutional carrier.
