It is plain and simple IMO, if he deseved the playing time he would be playing. JL plays for today not for what it may bring next year and that is the way coaches throughout America coach. He'll worry about next year after the season. AT will have all summer to work on his game in order to get ready for the following year. He would be doing all his players especially the seniors a diservice by not trying to put the best product possibly out there.

Really? My travels may have taken me away at times, but I know that JJ Tauai deserved to play the whole Sweet 16 year, and it took a terrible start to the MVC season and an embarrassing loss to WSU to get him back in Jim's good graces. It also took half the season for him to realize Ruffin and Franklin could play together at the same time. I wouldn't assume that just because he's not playing means he doesn't deserve it. Yes, I trust the coaches to play the best players, but they've shown over the years that isn't always the case.

I'll just have to disagree with you on this one! Last year I complained about MS and said DC should get more time. Boy was I wrong! I will have to go with the professionals on their evaluation and not on some hunch that an arm chair coach may have. These guys see these guys everyday and they know better then any of us by a wide margin who will contribute the most day in and day out. I also suspect that JL is protecting AT's health for the long run. The 5 position requires some pounding and AT is probably is not physically mature enough to take that punishment. It could be like sending a welterweight into the ring with a heavyweight. He may be able to throw a few punches and land them but eventually he'll get KOed

Anyone remember when AT got the ball and then tried to pass it back out, but no one was there and it went straight to a ISU player. Man, I felt bad for him. It was a good idea considering none of our other centers can/will do that (get the ball inside and then pass it back out) just was terrible execution. I don't why, I just thought I'd bring that up. He'll be a good player by next year and be a big part of the team a year after that.

Ha SFP, I agree with all you have said here and especially that last sentence. It does not take much to see AT is not ready to play. I agree that I would like to see him get some playing time and any he would get would help his game. But the only time I am talking about is well after the game has been decided. He is so physically undeveloped right now but I think this may change by next year after all he was to have gained 15 lbs. this last year. I would take 15 or more before next season. Right now he would be like a feather in a Kansas Tornado
There is no team in the the MVC that can match up to us the whole game, if our bigs come to play! BU will win the the MVC this year!

He needs to continue to work his b-tt off in practice and even stay after regular practice and work some more as he should be able to figure out that the spot is there for the taking next season. He also needs to put a lot of time in the gym this summer working on his weaknesses, most players improve more when they work hard during the off season , just ask JC about how hard he worked to improve his overall game in the summer before his junior season .

Even the greats will tell you that the off season is the most important time to improve and get in shape. Have you ever watched MJ or Karl Malone's summer workouts? All I can say is that they were BRUTAL! If you want it bad enough you will put the time into it.

What was Malone's great quote? something like "Every minute I'm not pumping iron, is a minute my competition is" ?
