Something is going really good for the Valley!
Look at these numbers.
The Bradley-Wichita State game had the highest single session attendance in the history of the MVC Tournament.
Saturday???‚¬?„?s attendance of 17,772 shattered the old record of 15,703 set during the 2003 semifinals.
The overall, full tournament attendance is already at this point -- 49,770 ???‚¬??? which if the tourney ended yesterday, would be the fourth-best in the league history. The all-time mark is 62,007, set in 2003, and we still have today's session to go.
The attendance for today, which will likely exceed the 12,237 needed, will set the all time tournament record.
Good for the Valley, and don't discount the fact that Bradley's performace is a big part of it, as are Wichita's performance and SIU's.
The one disappointing part of the crowds, was that it was noted that there were very few purple attired people in the crowd, even for the SIU-UNI game.
What's with those Panthers fans?
Their showing might have been affected by their fall to 6th seed, but you'd still have thought they would have show up in bigger numbers than were seen Saturday!
