  • Bill Walker @ K-State

As was discussed, the Ohio State Assoc. has ruled Bill Walker has already exhausted all of his high school eligibilty and is no longer able to play high school ball in Ohio.
He will have to go to prep school, as he hasn't got enough academic work behind him to go to college or juco.
So look for Walker to go to prep, and maybe OJ Mayo will follow.
Walker is rated as high as the #2 prospect in the Class of 2007, right behind OJ Mayo.

      Just an update,
Bob Huggins' attorney has filed suit against the Ohio State high school assoc. (OHSAA) over Walker's ineligibility.

Then get ready to go nuts, because it's going to happen.

Apparently Andy Katz has reported that Bill Walker has gotten clearance from the NCAA Clearinghouse, and has gotten a passing ACT score, makling him eligible to play in college as soon as the first semester is complete, possibly by Christmas. See the text at the far bottom of this article.
Supposedly he will be at K-State.

Indianapolis blue-chipper Eric Gordon’s decision to renege on an oral commitment to Illinois – and switch to Indiana – has prompted some fans […]

                    Just wondering...

How long does one have to enroll for classes?

Maybe Kansas St does 3 semesters, or 4... I don't know how it works anymore.

Maybe Bradley needs to get with the times and go to Monthsters. Each month is a 'semester' for course work. Then we could keep up with late clearances for players being allowed to play.

Just ridiculous. Amazing what some programs will do. Huggins sold his soul a long time ago... and he takes another program with him.

Wouldn't it be easier if we just did away with the rules, Mac? Seems to have worked for ol' Huggy everywhere he's been

Bill Walker has made his college debut after enrolling at Kansas State and being declared eligible.
K-State is killing Kennesaw State, 27-5 midway through the first half, and Walker has scored 2 pts.

I notice Bill Walker, who just became eligible and hadn't practiced much with the team, got gobs of playing time in his first game.
Kansas State beat the snot out of someone called Kennesaw State 82-54, but actually Kennesaw outscored Kansas State in the second half by 7.

I wonder how all the regulars feel about this wayward highschooler stepping right onto Bobby Huggins' court and immediately moving ahead of everyone else in the playing rotation and getting more PT than anyone else, even as much as the starters.
It's got to be great for team building.
Huggy must see this kid as their savior.
In his 22 minutes, Walker shot 10 times (as much as the other 11 nonstarters who played combined)

Kansas State lost yesterday to Texas A&M, but one important note,
heralded freshman Bill Walker hurt his knee less than 5 minutes into the game, limped off the floor and never returned.
One of the post game shows reported he had a "torn ligament" but the full extent of the injury is yet to be revealed.

Bill Walker is officially done for the season, out 6-8 months with a ruptured ACL. This really hurts the K-State Huggybears as they try to get an NCAA bid. Here's the link:

Walker's work is now done for the season, shelved for the next six to eight months with a ruptured ACL in his left knee, leaving the Wildcats to fend for themselves in the league and in a quest for a bid.
People need to recognize there is a huge difference between playing hard, and playing well...
