Eddren is a freshman???? This kid gets better every game and he is a freshman??? I remember some talk on the board that this kid wouldnt contribute much for a couple years as he played at a small school in high school. The logic was good but he has proved it wrong!!! How good can this kid be by the time leaves BU? I have to admit that I was one of the guys that thought it would take him some time to get on the floor and longer before he contributed, I was wrong, wrong and wrong!!!!!

McCain's shot
I fully agree that EM's a much more mature player than most Frosh. coming out of smallish schools. I compare his maturity to a young Billy Wright who stepped in as a Frosh and played very heady basketball. Another benefit to McCain's playing the point is that I've noticed SM tends to shoot better when playing the "2" and coming off screens vs. trying to create his own shot with the ball in his hands.

I don't remember too much talk about him being overwhelmed coming in since he played at a small school (maybe I missed it). I think his school played 40 or 50 games a year and traveled all over playing everybody. Their schedule looked more like an AAU schedule than a high school schedule.
McCain is certainly an exciting player to watch. He gets a little gun shy if he misses some shots and he needs to bring his turnovers down. But other than that, he looks to have a bright future at BU.
Besides the defense, the one intangible that he brings to the table as a point guard is that he rebounds. I think it is interesting when BU plays a 1-3-1 zone that Theron plays up top and McCain plays underneath the basket.1996 & 2019

If EM can consistently hit that top of the key 3 point shot our O will really start flowing. Four things can happen from that:
1. He keeps shooting it and hitting it
2. His man has to play him tight in which he blows past them and scores
3. or a big has to step in where he will have an easy pass to a big for some easy baskets in the paint
4. a perimeter defender will have to step in which will leave one of our other shooters SM, DD, DN or CR wide open for a set shot which we have a much higher percentage of hitting.
I have a feeling our O will go through EM by the end of the year to take advantage of his speed and we will see a much higher percent of shots made. We are also now starting to really crank it up on D and again we'll see a lot more points from our defensive effort as the season goes. I believe this team will improve dramatically over the next few weeks and as long as the intensity is there we should be able to win every remaining game in conference play."Educate and inform the whole mass of the people...they are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."
