Great Effort I don't think you could ask for more. Great Job BU
What a bad call on the intentional foul Just a BS called with the game on the line. They just robbed BU of first place
What BS No way you call that with the game on the line BS
There is no team in the the MVC that can match up to us the whole game, if our bigs come to play! BU will win the the MVC this year!
There were bad calls...but we DID go on a 7 minute drought of not making a field goal in the 2nd half. That's not going to win games. Good effort but for this team to win you need to have it going all 40 minutes. We need a go to guy when we are in those droughts otherwise it's going to catch up to us like it did last night.
I do agree the refs stunk though. That stupid call on EM for barely touching the guy and then on our next possession SM gets like tackled in the paint and there is not call...just completely out of order and no consistency to it whatsoever.
I agree and hope BU files a grievance with the MVC. It is always a shame when the officials choose to decide the outcome of the game. EVERYONE knew BU was going to intentionally foul (like all teams do). As long as there is no attempt to injure MOST officials simply call the foul. Not the horsebleep call that this official made.
We might have still lost this game but at least the players would have lost it on their own. Not had the game "stolen" by an official with a possible agenda.
While this foul-mania-in-the-last-minute business has been going on for a while... is this potentially a good idea?
Maybe this should be being calling an intentional foul all the time, since it clearly is intentional. That would avoid this hacking at the last minute that becomes obnoxious.
Clearly this would need to be a clear-cut change that is made and last night was just a poor effort by a ref who wanted to have his hand in the cookie jar... but maybe this is foretelling?
I never blame or point to the officiating or use them as a excuse for a lost. But I am not about to forget these three officials and I hope there is some way that they ALL get reprimanded for their job or LACK OF it last night
The intentional foul was just the icing on the cake These three had a hold on this game from start to finish and it was only the heart and soul effort by BU that kept these three form deciding this game earlier to NIU
The mugging of TW the whole game and NOT ONE Foul or FT for him, BS Hell I could see it all night from my chair a couple hundred miles away. The fouls BU 6-7 to 18-23, I say that was a little one sided and most of the fouls on BU were kisses, not fouls This went on ALL game The intentional foul was disgraceful but how about just moments early when they called that foul on EM and gave them two FT points and then the next trip down the floor on a rebound out front, two guys knock SM to the floor(NO FOUL), which then led to the fast break for two points and a 4 point lead with 32 sec's. to go. Then the MOTHER OF ALL CALLS after that People can say all they want about that Intentional foul call but it had and was the final knock out punch in a night FULL of Little JAB's by the officials. And if you don't think so just review that call and see the look on the BU players faces. These players deserved better and were just plain F____d
REMEMBER THESE NAMES, and I hope JL can veto these 3 from officiating another BU GAME ZELTON STEED, Bo BOROSKI AND DAVE DRAUCKER

If you don't hack in the last minute, your team has no chance if you are down by more than 4 points. The other team will simply let the play clock run out. Either let them keep fouling or shorten the play clock to 24 like in the NBA.

yeah sounds like that call was crap, but BU should'nt even have let UNI get that close, dissapointed w/ this game big time, end result that is.
I can agree to this some what. The drought hurt I can't remember if a time out was used to set the offense or a play to try to stop it. If there was a time out during the drought it was probably for setting the defense to stop their run. But on the other hand our go to guy TW could not do anything as he was getting held, pushed and fouled during that period and for that fact, all night I can't help but think that some of these fouls should have been called on UNI during that time. If that had happen, TW would not of been score-less and would of added points during that drought My opinion.
While I am running my mouth, I would like to add one more thing and that is I don't think UNI is that good of a team and your right we should of had a W last night.

....I don't think UNI is that good of a team .....
I agree OoB. I think they may be the least talented team to ever hold first place in the MVC this late into the season. I really think there are 4-5 Valley teams with more talent.
Why are they in first? Coaching? Chemistry? Balance? Luck? Hot streak? Who really knows and who really cares, right? They're in first place, they beat us, and that's all that really matters.
Let me say this, though. I DO NOT think they will win the MVC regular season or Tournament this year.

I in total agreement with you on that. Also I am not sure what their schedule looks like for them. But I think we have a favorable second half schedule.
