while I wouldn't expect to see many minutes for AT this year I thought we would see him for a few minutes here n there especially after Will went down. If we lost DC or SS in a game due to fouls or injury do we just go small? It would also be nice to get AT some real experience for next year and perhaps the end of this one. An extra big that could eat some minutes in the Valley tourney would be a benefit.

It's not like he has POB playing in front of him.
Also, related to this subject, someone had asked me the last time JL redshirted a freshman or anyone else for that matter that wasn't related to injury?

Reggie Miller was as skinny as a rail his whole college and NBA career. He played on the perimeter much of the time, but he would still drive, rebound and bang around when needed (also there were plenty big and strong guards and forwards guarding him). He was just plain tough and that's how he did it. AT (and DC for that matter) need to get tough.

My memory of the Coach Wright interview was that AT has lost weight during the season and he is currently ~200 lbs. They want to keep him there through the season and then work on getting him up to something like 235 for next year. He is lifting 3x per week which is 1x per week more than the rest of the team (during the season).
I really believe in AT's upside and I think he will be a great player for us before it is over but he just does not seem to be ready yet. I'd like to see him a bit this year but I'm not sure he will get the time. I do think he needs some extra bulk to be effective. I'd hate to see him on the floor with SIU right now. They would throw him into the third row.
Patience-he'll get there.houstonbrave
