Then, they went to Creighton and they just toyed with us too long and UNI got the 'W' by luck as Witter or Booker (can't remember which one) missed two FT's late in the game, snapping his 36 straight FT streak. Then, they knocked out an injury proned Missouri State team. The game at Evansville (to snap their inflated 10 game home win streak) was again, very lucky as they held Shy Ely and Holsinger to a poor %. Same thing happened against Drake, who also has an inflated record due to a weak non-con, and UNI held Josh Young to just a couple FG attempts.

Let's be honest, only UNI and Bradley actually pushed themselves in the non-conference portion of their schedule, which is why Bradley (who has more athleticism) will probably have a great rest of the week and be in 1st at the end of next week. I just hope UNI can keep it close with Bradley Wednesday.

      Funny stuff....

For the record 99% of BU fans understand UNI is for real. I just don't want you to run back to the UNI board and say..."BU fans think UNI hasn't beat anyone." NOT that it matters what the fans think but we won't overlook UNI. But first we have an equally tough game with SIU.

As far as the team....JL won't look past SIU and will deal with and respect UNI afterwards.

Maybe the home loss to Indy St to start conference play woke something up in UNI. Maybe they are just on one of those red hot streaks that happen from time to time. Maybe both, who knows. Not many people figured UNI to be a player this year in the league, but they are certainly turning a lot of heads right now.

No matter what, I will say that lighting anyone up on the road that bad, in this league, is impressive.

What I mean is US looking past SIU by talking about UNI won't hurt the team at all.....you and I both understand JL won't let that happen. I agree...this (SIU) will be a tall task. They will get those home grabs and hand checks they don't get at BU.....

Rebound....guard Dillard, I say rough him up, and hit the free throws.

How about Josh Young leading the Valley in scoring @ 17 a game only getting 3 pts all by FT? Thats a hard hit on the ol average my freind!

Gotta take care of SIU sunday to line up a BIG matchup with UNI. If we beat SIU, the game at UNI could be a signature win for us. I'm very excited for both games.

I do not think JL or this team is over looking anyone in this league especially on the road. SIU is still a dangerous team and all JL has to do is point to the 2nd half of that game when they went zone on us and Dillard hit a few 3s to get this teams attention.

Just judging from early on this season...the Valley could be in a big of dog fight that it has seen in years....up or down how ever you look at it...it makes it more exciting to watch as a fan..especially when your team (BRADLEY)is one of the ones in the hunt for the lead! This will end up being a fun year and the tourney is going to be something else!

Uh, I would say Creighton is a very good team that UNI beat on the road! Maybe it's a little early to get a good read on Drake, but I would say they are good enough to be a quality road win for UNI as well. That says a lot about them, and as I stated earlier, Bradley will need to play their best game of the season to even have a chance to steal one at their place. Hopefully our athleticism will put us over the top, but Bradley needs to shoot the ball well too, something that will be tough against a great defensive team like UNI.

Yeah, a good portion of what I said was tongue in cheek to respond to tornado, but the bottom line is that UNI has had some perceived favorable matchups thus far. However, UNI is playing really strong right now. Their defense is coming together fairly well, and the offense is carrying it's hot shooting that has taken place over the past month. The team has alot of youth in the backcourt, but they have solid shooters, with a PG that can distribute and drive into defenses. This is something UNI has lacked since Benny J graduated. It's still early. Just as Creighton loses at Wichita, I think teams are just trying to find out where they sit.

Bradley and UNI both challenged themselves by going on the road and playing some tougher opponents, and I think those are things that are helping out both teams right now. While some teams are struggling on the road, UNI and Bradley knows how to get it done.

I'm looking forward to the UNI/Bradley game Wednesday. This is the point in the season where teams need to start separating themselves from the rest of the pack...and I hope that some of the bottom teams start becoming solidified. In the same respect, UNI is in 1st with Bradley (well as of this morning), and I don't want all the bullseye on this young team. UNI needs a running mate.

I'm still waiting for the fans and the press to call this BU team a "front runner"; a "favorite" to win The Valley.

When will the PJS beginning covering this BU team as the first place team in The Valley?

                                I like the underdog role!

We will find out a bit more about this team the next few weeks. It is still early and anything can happen still. One thing I like about this team is that they have stepped up to the challanges in front of them each time and also I have not heard an excuse ever from anyone on the team when things have not gone well.
