His recruitment is open right now. I will be suprised if he ends up in Champaign. I hope I am wrong.

Remember - you deal with these types of players... they call the shots.
The inmates run the asylum.
I am chucking for both outcomes:
The Illini and BW lose a stellar recruit
The Illini and BW get an 'all about me/head case'.

There is such a perverted lust for talent that the coaches will kiss up to just about anyone, even convicted criminals and druggies. They'll break any rule with impunity like Dave Bliss and Kelvin Sampson do.
We've seen this time and again, and even when a guy finally crosses the line way too many times and is kicked off the team (as in JR Giddens, Aarton Johnson, and the dope using thugs of Bruce Pearl) then we find they are always welcome at the bottom feeder schools like New Mexico where they'll take anyone in transfer no matter how vicious his crime, and then smile and say they are all about character.
And the Indy Star article has a really great line.
The commitment to Illinois is compared to the commitment to his girlfirend:
"It's like saying I'm committed to my girlfriend,'' .... "But I can still look. I'm not dead.''
In other words, even if he's committed to his girlfriend, he's still going to look around and keep his options open.
Thankfully BU doesn't have to worry about these talent-drunk egos.

Sounds like this is a 2-way street in this situation. IMO, not 100% fault at IU. Gordon is keeping the recruiting alive.

From a brand new interview Rivals just did with Gordon:
"I'm still committed with Illinois and everything. I'm just going to stay with them but I've been giving IU a look because they have a new coach"
"There is a lot of pressure. You have fans right next to each other in those two states. So there is pressure. But I'm going to give Indiana a look but I'm still committed to Illinois"
"Gordon said his relationship with the Illinois coaching staff was the primary reason on his early verbal commitment to the Illini.
"They (Illinois) got everything I need. The style of play they have. The coaches ???‚¬??? that's probably the number one thing they and the reason why I went there," Gordon said. "You have the best players anywhere. Well, they don't have all the best players but when you do, they are going to make everybody better."
"Gordon did leave the door open for future recruiting situations with the hometown Hoosiers.
"I might take a visit. I'm not sure. I'm talking to my parents about it," Gordon said. "I've been talking to the coaches and stuff and listening to their information. But I think Illinois is the right thing for me."

Mock Interview with Braves4Life
From a brand new interview Rivals just did with Braves4Life:
"I'm still committed with my fiance and everything. I'm just going to stay with her but I've been giving this other hot chick a look because she has a nice body."
"There is a lot of pressure. You have friends right next to each girl. So there is pressure. But I'm going to give this other hot chick a look but I'm still committed to my fiance."
"Braves4Life said his relationship with his fiance was the primary reason on his early verbal commitment of marriage to his fiance.
"She (fiance) has got everything I need. The style of play she has. The family ???‚¬??? that's probably the number one thing she has and the reason why I proposed," B4L said. "You have the best family anywhere. Well, they don't have all the best family members but when they do, they are going to make everybody happy."
"B4L did leave the door open for future dating situations with his hometown hottie.
"I might date her. I'm not sure. I'm talking to my parents about it," B4L said. "I've been talking to this other hottie's family and stuff and listening to their information. But I think my current fiance is the right thing for me."

I found this interesting.
With all the talk about Eric Gordon and his dad helping make the decisions,
here is a thread from the Kansas State board.
One of the top recruits, Michael Beasley just committed to K-State, and now a poster comes onto the board claiming to be Michael's mom saying the committment is not solid and it could change.
The poster is said to be confirmed by other board people as the real Michael Beasley mom, but I guess you can never be sure....go figure....
