    Like Ruffin never did?

    The guy is a freshman.

And maybe Coach is instructing the penetration looking for collapsing defense that pulls 2 (maybe 3) defenders... and then jump and find someone open.

    I don't know.

Look for a quick jumper instead of heading to the trees to get stuffed, same goes for SM! The drive works once or twice a game but when they turn over the ball so deep, there's no balance on our transition D.

And it was something that wasnt all that great of Ruffin anyway... and if he was doing it to collapse a defense and then tossing it out, that would be great! (Not bashing McCain... I like him. In due time, he'll get it worked out!)

I feel like McCain played like a freshman tonight. I thought he was our of control and took some bad shots. Thats going to happen with a freshman running the point. I don't like going through it, but IMHO thats part of the process point guards go through and we will be better off in the long run. Too bad it had to happen tonight. And i'm sure Creighton's D was a part of that.

i heard he didn't practice all week....and it showed

most of the time when he was dishing those out they became TO's. his decision making was off...it definatley showed
Gloria: Who's side are you on?
Jay: She's my daughter, you're my wife. Let's remember what's important, there's a football game on today

Yep....I haven't been this encouraged or felt this good about the point since A. Manuel took over. In HIS freshman year he didn't get thrown to the wolves like EM is. AM got eased in.

EM is going to get nothing but better......

I hope he ends up with as good as a shot as Anthony Manuel.

You and me both, but I think that remains to be seen, I feel like he's going more in the direction of, DRuff, which I'd rather avoid, to many forced shots and out of control passes. I REALLY hope he goes the way of Manuel...

He's a FRESHMAN for God's sake! Cut him some slack.... He's gonna be OK! Trust me.

I understand that... I was pointing out a flaw he has... That's OK, trust me, that's what boards like this are for... And the problem is many players never outgrow this mentality, see Daniel Ruffin.

Perhaps he has to jump in the air or else he'll step on the baseline, which is what a few of our turnovers were from last night.

I'm not a big fan of guards taking it to the rim from the baseline unless they are looking at scoring. I much rather see SM and EM take it from the top of the key which gives them more options. They also need to learn when to just step back and shoot the short jumper when they beat their man instead of heading into a guy who is a good much taller. These are plays that worked in HS but will not work most of the time in Div. 1 and in the pros that is where people get hurt.
