From what I have heard, JW picked Bradley for a lot of reasons, mostly because he and his father trusted Coach Les and loved Bradley and the basketball program. The fact that he wasn't asked to redshirt was only a tiny part.

I think he's excited to be a brave and to be a very large fish in a smaller sea.

I want to premise this post by saying there is no sarcasm in this question in any way shape or form... This has nothing with ISU or anyone trying to steal him... just an honest questions...I know it is hard to tell that on message board sometimes...

Are you guys worried that he will not end up coming to BU now, if in fact, the NCAA holds up this until he can't enroll/play this year? Or are you just mad that he can't play this year? I haven't followed it very closely but are their indications there is a chance he will re-open his recruitment since he couldnt get into BU right away because of the NCAA?

          Thanks in advance

            Just my personal 2cents.

I am really not worried about any contribution from him this season. It is already Jan 15th and I can only assume he is not anywhere near in basketball shape, so even if he were cleared today I just can not see how he would be too significant of a contributer this season.

I am PO'd because the NCAA continues to treat teams such as isu.. IE Bryson and Bradley or anyone not from the SEC, ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac Ten or Memphis as garbage. They are, and this is my opinion, intentionally dragging this out simply because Wilkins wants to enroll at Bradley Univerisity. Minor issues with his transcripts my A$$. Where was this diligence when Kansas had half their team last season with some sort of transcript/academic issue, where is the diligence with anything to do with USC, where was the diligence when it came to punishing a cheating program at Indiana?

The dragging of the feet is simply intentional, because of the school involved, at the money level it is involved with in the NCAA, and I believe likely because someone on that committee has a tie or two either through employment or financies to a BCS school who thinks any releasing of Wilkins is a hurtful decision to that BCS or all of the BCS's. How dare a Missouri Valley School receive someone who the BCS's feel they have entitlement too.

Everything revolves around money, and the NCAA more the anyone, someone has there hands out or in a pocket regarding this.

Technically I think his recruiting has always been open. Some are worried because the season is well underway and he still isn't playing so the bigger schools will start to recruit him when this season is over if he isn't enrolled at bradley by then. Others just want to get his 5 game suspension out of the way and are confident that he will be at Bradley next year even if he doesn't get the chance to play this year. Only time will tell.

Sorry but that is *****, talking about any recruit is 90% speculation.

This "high school" issue all seems so funny to me as foreign students seem to normally be MUCH more prepared for college than our native US students. I witness it time and time again every semester (especially in math). What the _____ is the NCAA worried about? JW is probably more ready for college studies than 80% of the division one basketball athletes coming from high schools in the US. Let this young man go to school NOW.

I don't think he's going to come to school here or play here. Just my opinion, no inside info.

That tells me education professionals are not making this determination bureaucrats are making this decision.

I am with BB on his evaluation. I would not be surprise if Wilkins never gets released by this committee... well until he decides he is going elsewhere.

This whole situation smells real bad.

I'm not going to get excited until he is on campus working out in the summer. I know it happens all over but I'm a bit cynical based on the let downs since I've been a bu. I know all the situations were unique and I'm not blaming anyone but the hype around xavier crawford, jeremy fears, ray brown, and dearren Williams come to mind. I'm done getting my hopes up for players before they actually put the jersey on.
I don't smoke weed...I smoke dudes like you on the bball court

That's how I've felt about this situation since the beginning. Until the player is on the court and you can see what he's capable of with your own eyes, it's a bit silly to get too excited. Besides, even if Wilkins gets cleared and comes to BU to play, there's no guarantee he'll be as big of a contributer as people are assuming. I hope he is, but there's really no way to know until he get here.
