Plus we beat them by like 30 last year here....

We need to focus on sticking it to them again and nothing else...

If we play OUR game, no one will beat us here AND we will always make for a tough out on the road.

Too soon is right. We can start talking about that if we haven't yet lost a conference game and we only have one more to play. This team has been taking it one game at a time and just playing each game tough and physical like its the last one. Not in the prima donna style that ISU has been doing thinking style will make them fly by everyone. This team works better when it's one tough game after another.

Agreed, let's not tempt Karma here. I am really worried about this Creighton game. I can not say enough how much I fear Altman, especially in the regular season. The man gives his team a chance to win any game. And that's the sign of a great coach. He may not win 'em all. But you better believe he's done everything he can to prepare his players.

Looking back at the past few seasons, 15-3 is a pretty safe bet to win conference. We know our team shows up to play in Carver most nights, I'm worried about 7 of the 8 remaining conference games on the road. Realistically I think we can drop one at home and two on the road and still take the MVC. With that said, the only game that matters is the next one though.

I agree. I'm always worried about Creighton and especially so for this one for some reason. Maybe it's just a gut feeling but I think CU is on the verge of an explosion and Bradley is in it's path. Along with that it is a possibility that the fact we are now the sole leaders in the MVC may have our guys confidence up a little bit too much. I'm not saying they will be cocky but I would understand them coming out with not as much intensity as the previous 4 games. A loss in this situation I would see as a good thing. To keep our guys grounded and playing hard the rest of the season no matter what place they are in. That being said I would of course be upset as a top valley team needs to almost go undefeated at home in the conference.

Here's to them hopefully coming out as hungry as ever. Now is not the time to get lackadaisical.

See an i get an exact opposite vibe... I feel like CU is on the verge of a self destruction, and we are going to kick them down that path. Provided we don't look to far ahead, play with intensity... etc.... etc.... etc....

Believe me I will be ecstatic with a win, but I can't even imagine what DA is making that team do these next few days to get them ready for us. My money is on them getting fired up. Didn't say money on them to win...just for them to be R-E-A-D-Y.....really ready. I hope we come out to play on Saturday as much or if not more so than last night.

This could very much be true! They have been having some team issues early on and just maybe it is coming from their best players. Part of a coaches job is to be a good chemist but you need the right ingredients to make it happen unless you are an alchemist. One thing about our team is that we play like a team, unselfish and our leaders are always pointing to others of why we are successful. BradleyBraves is constantly pointing out that he does not care to see any new faces in our rotation in fear that it may change the positive chemistry our team has. I believe we have enough leadership that it would take a complete selfish person (which I believe JL will not recruit or tolerate) to divide this team. If anyone has played on a winning team at any level you all know that team chemistry goes a long way. I've seen teams with good talent not great play their way to championships while great talent lose it all.

In baseball one only has to look at the Detroit Tigers and see that they messed with their chemistry and it all went down hill quickly with all that talent.

DaCoach, What number of wins are you thinking it will take this year? Do you think 13-5 will do it? 14-4? To get to 14-4 we probably need to win them all at home and win 3 more road games. I would expect the 3 easiest road games left are InST,SUI,and NIU. Wining all the home games will be tough enough, doing that and 3 more road wins seams like alot to ask.
                    What are you thoughts?

The rest of the conference schedule, home games are bolded:

                      CU
                      InST
                      SIUC
                      UNI
                      InST
                      WST
                      ISU
                      UNI
                      DU
                      CU
                      EU
                      MoST
                      EU
                      DU

Is it just me or with the way the valley teams are shaping up to be it seems like the end of our schedule won't be so easy afterall. With EU, CU, DU, ISU all on the road in the 2nd half and some tough home games also. It seems like our schedule is shaping up to be gradually harder and harder. Which is why it is too soon. haha

My heart tells me 4-4 or 5-3 after these next 3 games...

We'll be extremely lucky to be 6-2.

Let's face it, we lost to probably the best team in the Valley tonight so I will not be suprised if we win 2 of the next 3. We win against Indy and split the other 2.

That's what I would think but Indy just beat ISU so they may not be so much of a cupcake. We'd be fortunate for a win there.

And I know some people still don't put much credibility into Evansville but SIUC took care of business against them in Carbondale.

UNI is playing good...they took down the team we just lost to while on the road...not much else to say there.

                            It's gonna be tough.
