SIDE NOTE: While I'm typing this, the BU-ISU highlights were just on ESPN2 again. Its great to see us on ESPN for a WIN (unlike MSU last year and this, plus Florida this year).
Yeah that one was questionable, but then TB kinda tackled an ISU player (Holloway I think) and the ball went off his leg and out of bounds and they awarded it to BU. The refereeing was good for the mere fact that they never took the spotlight away from the ballplayer and the game. On VT a few redbird fans are complaining about the 7-1 foul ratio in the first half, but that's not alot of fouls called & ISU was not attacking the basket like BU to draw the fouls, they were chucking up 3's.

Thanks R21....it was more fun this year with both teams fighting for 1st as to a battle for less! isu and Bradley have to have the 2 most atheletic teams in the Valley IMO!

Yeah, I saw the highlights too. It helped that we played an undefeated team, otherwise we don't get the highlights on ESPN.

Speaking of, why does ESPN not show a BU-ISU game once in awhile? It would work well for their Rivalry week, or any other time of the year for that matter. I'm surprised that a network like that would miss one of the best rivalries in the country.

Come to think of it, why is this game not on the MVC network more often?

We were talking about that in the stands before the game....how can you not have both isu/Bradley games on as the games of the week for the MVC....nothing else in this state can match that....!

Just saw the highlight on SportsCenter. Way to go Braves!
People need to recognize there is a huge difference between playing hard, and playing well...

Absolutely right. And Bradley's scheme was to dribble/drive and draw contact/fouls. It worked in the 1st 1/2. But I figured calls might even up in the 2nd 1/2. WHICH THEY DID. And then ISU got themselves in trouble when they had only committed like 2 fouls at one point and racked up 3 or 4 in one possession for Bradley late in the game (maybe around the 5-6 minute mark) which kept resetting the shot-clock/possession for Bradley. Instead of shooting ft's and possible misses... we got to burn time and get fouled... and burn time... and get fouled and burn time.

Great game for BU. The points allowed has been steadily declining over the last 4 games while our points scored has remained fairly constant. ISU is still a good team though despite there schedule. I think they just looked a little worn out in the 2nd half. Lot of hands on the hips, bending over, flat shots, etc. I think our D really made them work.

Actually I think that was TB's one block.

And everyone is right DC did have a great game and I actually saw him jump one time for the rebound that was really high....realllly high.

I got a little frustrated though in the 2nd half with him when ISU was kind of coming back and he could've had two blocks if he would have just jumped a little. His hands were there...in great position...and if he would've jumped it would've been two swats, but they turned into 4 points instead. Get that man to JUMP! Watch video film with him and tell him when to jump and eventually he'll start making conscious efforts to.

Great defense by BU. I still think ISU will only lose 2 or 3 more games in the conference and it'll be hard to capture 1st place but it's nice to AT LEAST have a split with them.

One game at a time for this team. It's time to concentrate on Creighton now and really get this snowball rolling and picking up momentum.

Great win! Huge crowd, a Braves victory, 1st place in the MVC, defeating the hated redbirds and crushing their undefeated dreams. Sam Singh had some huge blocks and played amazing down the stretch. How sweet it is!

                        • Oh what a night.... Some ISU fans at work have been trash talking me for about a week... I have been laying low.. Now it is MY TURN!!!

                          a couple of things

DC had a great game for him... I have bashed his play all year, but if I criticize a player as much as I have with DC, I have to lead off here with props to him... Keep it up DC... Also props to TW for having "the talk" with DC... That's senior leadership fellas...

Taylor Brown---sixth man extraordinaire- imo TB probably had the defensive play of the game...

EM--looking forward to three more years of EM "killin em on the floor."

Sam Singh---what's there to say... Quite simply, Sam Singh is what Bradley Basketball is all about...

Great game from the coaching staff....

One last thought that I havent seen on this thread... This may be just me, but I was not impressed with ISU's defense last night....
                          Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

Congratulations to BU on a great win.

Now lets quit celebrating because we have CU coming in fresh off back to back conference losses and we need another game just like last night along w/ the fans.

CU will be ready and when was the last time CU lost 3 conference games in a row and for whatever reason they always come prepared for BU.

I just hope we have as big of a crown and we play w/ the same intensity and don't take them for granted just because ISU blew them out because if we do we will get it handed to us.

The student section was just fantastic last night and it was nice to finally see the crown on their feet the last 3 minutes.
