I have no issues with the feed houston. But when you compare the quality (fuzziness) versus competitors it is sadly lacking.
I dont get that either. Actually the only games I had any visual issues with were the ones from the Florida tourney. I dont expand the screen though completely I keep in the smaller format, so I can also chat in the room, so maybe that is why I dont notice any fuzziness or picture quality.
But I am just thankful I get to see every game this year.
Part of my job as creative and web services intern is to assist in the operations of our web streaming efforts. Trust me that I understand the frustration that can come about when something is not working properly or is not on par with other schools, especially Valley rivals.
We have invested in the service to provide and improve upon what the athletics department feels is a great service to our fans. Aside from Men??™s Basketball, our streaming provides an outlet to most of our sports where one was not available before. With that said, we hear your woes and we do appreciate the feedback.
I have spent time the past few days addressing this internally and with our web services provider, Jump.TV, the ways in which we can improve upon the service we have with our equipment. Streaming is tricky because of the various ways you push and pull the stream. For basketball, we pull the stream from the local TV affiliates for broadcast home and road games. If the picture quality is poor on the television screen, inevitably signal loss will occur and it will come out looking even worse on a computer screen.
As for the concerns about Missouri States stream, I was told that a large part of the reason they have such a great stream is because of their recent investment in their new basketball arena, JQH Arena. With this came the addition of in house cameras that are HD and new equipment all around.
I have devised an intermediary plan that will be taking action soon. If all goes accordingly (which is rarely the case with technology), it will provide our various bandwidth users the option as to what quality they want to stream at. Additionally, I was told by Jump.TV that they will be upgrading the service at some point in the near future on their end.
We appreciate the feedback and know that we are committed to making this a great option for our great fans all across the United States. Do not hesitate to email me with any concerns, comments, constructive criticism, or the occasional positive remark
Thanks again,

Thanks, Derek, for addressing these concerns. Here's to hoping your proposal works out to enhance the picture quality. Supposedly, Bradley has some HD cameras of their own. Maybe that could help.
Thank you Derek! I really appreciate your efforts and am greatful that BU offers the availability of a stream. I look forward to even better quality in the near future. Thanks for all that you do!
Thanks so much for your hard work on this... I hope we didn't come across as complaining. I think I can vouge for each one of us: We GREATLY appreciate the streaming service. Higher quality would just make the experience that much better!
Thanks, Derek. Now on to my other pet peeve regarding the Braves web site.
Please crop the images so they fit into the designated areas. Almost all the thumbnail images on the site are smooshed and distorted. I imagine it only takes a minute to crop an image before you post it. Stop cramming vertical images in horizontal windows!
DePaul uses the same homepage template as Bradley. Look how much nicer it is when populated properly.
Are you talking about a TV version?
The Monday AM Jim Les radio show is always podcasted on 1470WMBD.com ==> under Greg and Dan ==> Audio Archives (archives has the downloadable MP3's, there is a podcasting link under Greg and Dan but I do not use itunes)

You're right about the Greg & Dan podcasts on 1470WMBD.com. But I'd rather not sift through archives of their entire show. The Jim Les portion should be archived on bradleybraves.com, if possible. Ideally, it would be available on iTunes and update my ipod automatically...like most podcasts.
But that's small potatoes compared to my disdain for distorted images on bradleybraves.com. Grrrr.
But, they (1470wmbd.com) does not archive the entire show under archives, just "good" segments..
Not that hard to scroll down a little and download just the Jim Les show (with the commercial breaks cut out!)

Thanks Derek. Can I put in an additional request for a new arena to go with new HD cameras and the best streaming college site on the planet?
Aside from the choppy video and audio at times, the picture quality looks great. Thanks, Derek, for the huge improvement. I'm sure you'll work the kinks out with whatever it is you're doing.
Video looks great. A barrage of emails from a board full of internet posters CAN make a difference. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!
Now, about those distorted photos on the homepage....
...and HD feed and new arena. Go Derek!
The first half far and away was the best quality ever for me. The second half got a little sketchy at critical times and almost gave me the big one! At one point I lost the feed with BU up 4 and ISU with the ball and about 8 seconds left.
