Here's an interesting tidbit of info....I wasn't sure where to put it...

One of Jim Molinari's assistants back in the 90's was George Barber, most will recall him...has the son of a former NBA player on his roster.
George also served as assistant with Rick Pitino on Kentucky's National Championship team of 1996.
George is now head coach at Greenville College, Greenville, IL.

(click on George's name to see his bio)

    anyway...
George's best player this year is the son of NBA player LaPhonso Ellis.
LaPhonso Ellis, Jr. is a junior on the Greenville team (from Belleville HS) and averaged 14.3 ppg/6 rpg as a sophomore, and 11.8 ppg/5 rpg as a freshman for Greenville.

This season LaPhonso is averaging 16 ppg/7 rpg, hitting 54.2% on FGs and 43% (9-21) on 3-pointers.
    LaPhonso, Jr. is a 6-3 G/F

By the way, ex-ICC player and ex-UIC player Billy Baptist finally became eligible and is now playing at Quincy University.
He has instantly become arguably their best player!
He has only been eligible for the last 5 of Quincy's 10 games, and in those five games he is averaging 11 ppg & 7.2 rpg.
He has been moved up to a starting position the last 3 games and starts alongside ex-Peoria Notre Dame's Josh Edmonds.
Edmonds is averaging 8.8 ppg and hitting 32.4% of 3-pointers (11-34)
Quincy has five other DI transfers (Tyler Burke-Air Force, Kenneth Maye-Idaho State, Domonic Stafford-Sacramento State, Justin Brock-Eastern Illinois, and Nikola Obradovic-Penn State)

Also, the NC St. / Florida game was awesome - Florida came back from a pretty big deficit and Calathes (who had a huge day) made the go-ahead basket with 10 seconds or so left. And Gus Johnson was announcing it on CBS, reminding me of some classic NCAA tourney moments. He makes the game so fun to watch.
