assist by Ceola Clark and bucket by Josh Rivers, then a steal by Ceola Clark and 3-pointer by David Nurse on an assist from Rivers, and WIU takes a 10-pt
lead 57-47, with about 4 min to go.
Box score for the Western Illinois Leathernecks vs. Kansas City Roos NCAAM game from January 2, 2009 on ESPN. Includes all points, rebounds and steals stats.
I had to go out and I missed the past few minutes, but Coach Mo's WIU Leathernecks go to 3-0 in the Summit Confernce
with a 71-68 win over Missouri-Kansas City, the team that beat BU in Florida.
Josh Rivers & David Dubois both with 21 for WIU.
Congrats to Mo, overall record 6-7
BTW-- I left to go coach a junior hi soccer team and one of the kids on the team is Ty Harris, the son of ex-BU player Rick Harris, who was there tonight,
and I talked with him about Mo and his passion for defense. In fact I watched Mo give a clinic to a high school team on defense, and by the time he was done, he had a way of instilling that passion to play defense into every player...and it is working at WIU!
OK, I know conference play is early, but, WIU is 3-0 and in first place in the Summit.
WIU has not seen a start like this in a long time. MO, has to be doing alot of things right, I mean, outside of DuBois does Western really have any big time players?
