Wichita St.- 3 years DI experience
      SIU- 10 years DI experience
      ISU- 8 years DI experience

None of these figures count redshirt years.
Great point AA. There are many ways to look at this. Net effect, BU not so experienced, IllST is very experienced. They better take advantage while they can.

i couldn't resist doing the rest of the valley teams.

        Creighton- 6 years DI experience
        UNI- 5
MSU- 4, but this is usually higher. they have been changing lineups a lot.
        InSU- 7
        Drake- 8
        Evansville- 8

The top 7-8 players might be interesting, instead of just the starters. Experience off the bench can be big, for example Sam Singh.

and kids who don't play 4 years in HS are different as are kids like McCain who play 60 HS games per year, etc.

lefty-- how many juco kids come in and have as much impact as a junior (in their first year with the team)
as a kid who is a junior but in his 3rd year with a team (like Osiris Eldridge, Drake's Josh Young, etc..)?
I contend they DON'T have the DI experience...but feel free to include them in your calculations if you disagree.

Also, I don't know Pomeroy's formula, but I suspect he does count jucos as experienced players.

I guess I think of total years 4 HS and 4 college. It doesn't seem right to say that junior with two year juco experience should compare to a freshman in experience. Maybe two years should be considered one year D-1. I don't know but I would think every coach would expect more out of their juco juniors then their freshman.

We can be scary good in 2 years especially if AW reshirts this year, WE comes back strong and will be 2 years removed from his injuries, everyone improves as they usually do over 2 years and JW plays and is as good as advertised, even wihout JW we'll be top 20 caliber material IMO. I ask those doubters, why not?

I believe that Sam Singh"s health has a lot more to do with his contributions this season then his experience. When he arrived at Bradley I thought he could be a good player but then he had so many injuries which kept him from playing very little basketball in a 3 year span.

I haven't looked at all the team rosters yet but it would be interesting to see just who is the youngest and what teams have the most experience........
I don't know about SIU... They may be in a bit of a rut... Players leaving, etc. Just ask any of their fans, back to back conference losses to NIU and us, and the sky is falling. I keep reading on their board that they wanted to be the Gonzaga of the east, and I dont see that happening for a long time.

True, How many full, healthy, off-seasons has Sam had? Off-season prep wise, he is a Jr.
                      pre 1) (nobody has a full off-season)
                      pre 2) Shoulder recovery
                      pre 3) ACL recovery
                      pre 4) Healthy
                      pre 5) Healthy

Especially when Xavier has a commanding lead right now for that title.
