  • Butler ranked #25

Just came across this on Yahoo!Sports. Butler enters top 25. There's a nice shout out to Bradley in the article.

???It wasn??™t just the games against Xavier and Ohio State but the wins at Drake, Bradley and Cleveland State, all tough environments to play in, that get you ready to play in your league,??? the 32-year-old Stevens said, adding he didn??™t know how being ranked would affect his young team."

It's about time they cracked the rankings.

But still third in "receiving votes" in the Coaches' Poll ... I find that shocking.
      Go Braves!

Are you honestly surprised at the lack of respect for the "little" guy?

                You are right.

My point is that Butler has two national writers in Gary Parrish and Jeff Goodman who always go over-the-top in "playing-up" Butler, its been like this for years. Sometimes you get more publicity for being slighted. It's temporary anyway, maybe it gives them something extra against UAB tonight, who knows?

I do know, I'd really like to finish in the Top 15 for the 3rd year straight. That could be enough for a preseason Top 10.

That would affect Da Coach, but not you Tornado. (just kidding)

Haha, I'd love to see that happen for Butler. I'm from Indiana, love mid-majors, and think Hinkle is one of the places every College BBall fan should make an effort to go see a game at least once. Not to mention I think Stevens is a phenomenal coach. That being said I can not imagine that there is any way Butler would be pre-season top 10, even not graduating anyone from a top 15 finish. The national guys have a really short memory when it comes to mid-majors...
