Jim was in the WMBD studio and talked with Greg Batton and Dan Diorio about yesterday's game. The most praise given was to Sam Singh and Chris Roberts for the defensive efforts, but he praised yesterday's win as a total team effort. The improvement was due mostly to focusing on taking away what SIU's player's strengths were and focusing on our strengths.
In the final few minutes, Coach Les talked a little about the upcoming game at Wichita State.

Shouldn't we always be focusing on these aspects?!

But have you ever heard a coach interview where you actually learned something? Pretty rare. Although Mo used to have some good stuff . . . about life and process, though . . . not basketball.

Generally you'll hear some variation on one of two themes: "I'm proud of our kids; it was a real team effort," or "We need to work on team ball. We need to play better offense and defense. We need to work on scoring points and limiting our opponents' opportunities. But give [fill in name of victor here] credit. They had something to do with it."

What else are they gonna say?

Why didn"t they ask about when A.Warren may start practicing with the team?

Yesterday on the broadcast CB and Snell were talking about Warren, they both said they didnt know anything but something should be known within 7-10 days. But they way they both talked and stopped themselves from saying more I thought they knew what was going to happen.
