The students are move involved w/ the other music...have you missed the jumping up and down they do...?
Agreed, as much as I love our fight song, it is not something that really gets the students going. Right or wrong, many don't know the words and Zombie Nation (the song we jump and and down to) is a great way to get students into the game and the team pumped. I know many of the fans at BU games are older, but the intent of the line-up announcement should be to help the team out. Playing what they want to hear, and what gets the students into the game should be what we do. The people who want to hear the band all the time and don't like the quasi-rap music and such, in general, are not the fans who are going to to be loud and help the team out.
This comment may come under fire, as I know some of you 'blue-hairs' ( ) do help provide a great atmosphere for our Braves, but I'm callin' it like I see it..
No problem at all...I am for whatever gets the arena loud and excited. As a current "blue hair"..I don't mind the Zombie Nation song, especially AS the players are being announced....I just like hearing swing march, not the BU fight song, as they come out of the huddle for the tip-off. I guess there is really no way to please everybody but like I say...whatever it takes to get people out of their seats and into the game!!!
GO BRAVES!

Seems to me that the "canned" music can be more intense, and gets at least the student section fired up for the beginning of the game. After that, go with the band.
This year's intro video is the best one they've had since the Sweet 16 video. I like it.
I agree. I've seen players from the opposing team watching it, so it gets their attention. The only problem I've had with it was the length of time to segue from the video to the introductions, but that appears to have been addressed during the most recent games.
The major difference I've seen this year is that Herzog instantly goes into the lineups now as opposed to letting the music go for 10 seconds or so. Nothing is a bigger thrill than when you get 10,000 people all clapping in unison, which is what happened during the Zombie Nation song in previous seasons.
The intro video is fine but people aren't necessarily "pumped" by it. If it's a time thing, shorten the video. Just get the lights down, and some music going that everyone can clap to ... during the sweet 16 year and the year before it would send shivers up my spine how amazing the arena felt. Just doesn't have that power like the past.

I'm gonna call it like I see it too; you will be old someday too... good luck with that!
Personally this year's "still" pictures don't do it for me. Go with some video! Also, the music is not very exciting. I almost fell asleep during the intro last game and at the very least I was bored with it! Wake up the crowd, please!!!

I liked everything about the video after the Sweet 16...
The song is actually a remix of "Kernkraft 400" by a German DJ known as Zombie Nation. Hate to be the music snob, but we might as well be accurate. I would also be really upset if we got rid of it... There's nothing quite like like screaming and (/or jumping up and down) to it with all of you.
How about we include the Carmina Burana in some form? It's been overtly commercialized and used to death, but it really seems to get people fired up.. We could tie still photos with the gong hits (1:40 on this recording), right?

I vote for Glen Miller's "St. Louis Blues March." I'll even break out my old AFROTC uni.

If that's what the players need to get them pumped up, I'm fine with it. Just don't knock the blue hairs. As I've said many many times, no blue hairs no program.
I don't mind the intro video. I actually quite like it. I don't really know what to do with the music, at least until (the) Zombie Nation (song) comes on. I also do prefer the way we used to go into the swing march for the tip off... I liked the way Vroman could keep the beat going right up until the tip off went up.
