I have to say I eat my words...I never thought Illinois would do this well.
Congrats to the Fighting Illini. I actually am an Illinois grad (profession school degree) and one of my friends and business associate is
and uber-fan of the Illini, even painting the walls in his office orange!!!....so I still kinda follow them..........so I guess I can jump on the bandwagon......

Last night they humbled a decent and previously ranked (#25) Mizzou team.

The guy everyone has been pointing to as the savior, Alex Legion, barely played and wasn't needed.

By the way, in two games, Legion is 2-9 in 24 minutes of play....ranking Legion right at the top of the entire team in shots taken per minute played.
this fact causes some to think the last thing the Illini need is a gunner who thinks he needs to shoot more than anyone else when the team is doing just fine already, thank you!

Legion has certainly struggled in his first two games. Fortunately, Weber has the luxury of easing him into the rotation because his guards are playing so well. Seniors Chester Frazier and Trent Meacham are both having outstanding final seasons, and Demetri McCamey is continuing to improve little by little.

Illinois does still have to worry about their defensive rebounding and interior defense, but the composition of the Big Ten this season actually plays to their advantage - there's a lot fewer proven big men in the conference than normal. We'll see just how good Illinois really is when they travel to Purdue on Tuesday to open conference play.

UIUC is playing so well they should be undefeated in the B10 when they meet the best team in the State of Illinois on Feb 12th.

It takes a big man to admit he was wrong. Hopefully, the Illini will continue to prove you wrong in the conference season. Playing on the road in the B10 can be really rough; and I think it's mostly due to the favorable calls teams get at home.

I have an Illini fan tell me he honestly believes UIUC is the only team that gets 'homered' at home. LOL!

I'm not too worried about Legion's roll or his shooting percentage at this point. Having been working with a skeleton few the past few seasons it's nice to have a few extry warm bodies.

You failed to mention Legion was the leading scorer w/15 points against #7 Michigan State.

Please do not profess to speak for all IL fans.

He's doing great, but his team is in last place, 17 games out of first place. Of course, he gets his 25 shots per game and plays defense like he did at BU. It's always been Danny first, team second.
