seems to me that every comment bad or good have been allowed....
"this board" has no rules of membership and even the multitude of criticisms have been allowed...
there are lots of threads.....go look at them....

But-- here's the odd difference....when challenged, those who criticize go bananas and can't stand to have their views challenged
and label those who disagree as "not seeing the whole picture" and "being unrealistic".

So, guess which one comes over being the most intolerant?

Nobodies criticism has been restricted here. Not a single post after last night's game has been changed or deleted. What are you talking about?

People are entitled to their views. But posting the same attacks against players and coaches many times in every thread on the board over and over again, even when Bradley wins, seems a bit extreme to me.
Some act like the more they post slams, the more likely they can change something. Is that realistic?

Critics- was there even one single thing about last night's game that was good?

Thanks for the advice on how to moderate the forum.

The only posts ever deleted are ones that violate the rules we have for posting. It is that simple. Mostly it's because posts attack someone personally, or threads turn into back and forth bickering arguments that fail to add anything new to the discussion. Posts may also be removed for being overly repetetive.

The only post of your that was deleted in the past year was because it linked to a site that was not a direct link to what you posted that it was a link to.
If you want to post stats, you must post the stats themselves or a link directly to the page that lists the stats, not to another message board site where people have to look for the stats.

Sure. The definitely was more of an effort by the players to get the ball inside to our post players. If we can build on this, that'd be great. David Collins looked pretty good to me although I thought he and Thompson were slow getting back under the basket when helping at the top of the key. But Collins was very active tonight.

McCain looks good to me even though he didn't look to shoot as much. Hey, I'm okay with that if he's able to make plays for his teammates. And he's doing that.

Maniscalco played pretty well I thought too.

Dunson's dunk from the alley-oop pass was awesome.

Some of you act like there's only 2 possible outcomes for a game (other than win or loss)

                a) Terrific performance. Outstanding.

                b) Terrible performance. Disgusting.

Middle ground, people. Middle ground. Seems like a vacant area right now.
                Bravo TAS.

I always read the board and from time to time post. However, with both "a" and "b" being the only types of views we are beginning to see, it makes me want to neither read or post.

I hope the improvement of our team will change the mood here. Sorry, JMHO.

I hate to keep bringing this up, but there is one other important factor in play here that some seem to forget or just don't comprehend. As it is on every message board, and in every media outlet, this site is privately owned and run. There is no such thing as complete freedom of speech here, just the same as you would not be allowed to say anything you wanted on TV or in a letter to the editor of a newspaper. Some things are discouraged, others are simply not tolerated.
See the Rules for Posting for a complete listing of the rules set up by the fans who run this site.

But to bring up an analogy that has been used already, you would probably not allow guests to enter your home and and do anything they wanted to do. You would have every right to ask them to leave or evict them if they did not comply with the rules you have set, even if they felt it was their right, even if they felt they were not being unreasonable, and even if they lived like that in their own homes. It's your private domain, and you can make the rules.
This site was started as a postive place for fans to discuss and read information about Bradley. There are other sites that appear to be happy to tolerate an unreasonable amount of negativism and attacks. Sorry if it doesn't seem fair to some people. We have even offered to give advice on how to start your own website if you don't like what's said and allowed here. It's easy, and anyone can do it.
This site will remain a positive gathering for Bradley fans, the overwhelming majority of who appreciate the civil and supportive nature of our site.

Well here I go and I said I would stay away from this board after the game because what I am reading is what I knew would happen.

I believe we played just well enough to win and if we do not learn how to settle things down a bit with the ball we'll be fighting to stay out of Thursday's play in game. I also believe right now that this team does not know how to run and fast break. Our guards are a little out of control and need to learn how to deliver a pass at the right time. I also believe our best offensive weapon right now would be for us to get the ball inside first and then if all else fails shoot it from the out side. I saw DC open way to many time inside and our guards failed to get him the ball. No wonder on O you see him stop working after awhile. We go inside for the first part of the game and start doing well, we get a few open set shots, hit them then we go back to chucking up shots on the move because we made a few set shots. As I have said SM shoots the ball so much better when he is set and squared away. Every time he was set he hit it and when he was trying to create and had to shoot over someone he missed. If we would settle down on our O I believe we could improve immensely and reduce TOs. I also am perplexed by out FT % night after night after night. We just head to the line grab the ball bounce it once and chuck it up! Again you have 10 seconds once you get the ball to shoot it. You do not extra points for chucking it up within the first 2 seconds. Again once our guys learn to relax and take their time like they have been there before good things will happen. I still have faith with a few tweaks and if DC starts to play with a bit of consistancy over 40 minutes we could be decent.

Agreed 100% with your post Coach! However, if people have questions on coaching methods or player effort, I'm assuming we can still discuss those issues on a constructive level, correct? I am certainly not one of those posters calling for Les's head, and I think he has done a good job with what he has had to work with this year (kind of similar to what Tom Crean is going through at Indiana right now). But if people feel that he needs, as an example, to be more aggressive at the inside game or coaching fundamentals, I'm assuming we can discuss that in a civil manner here.

My concern is specifically geared toward the lack of shooting (free throws and three point shots) that has plagued this team this year. Injuries or not, this is something that I think can be corrected with time and effort. I'm just wondering why we have not seen improvement in either of these areas. I don't think it's from a lack of practice, but this is something that should be correctable irregardless of how many players are injured. I'm wondering what else can be done to turn this around before we get too far into the conference season.

Absolutely, Bravesfan. That's what I like to do, and it's what I think all Bradleyfans and basketball fans in general like to do. But it can be done without getting into personal attacks on players or coaches. And if not everyone agrees with you, be happy to see what their POV is.
