After watching 10 games I can honestly say that this is a definite rebuilding season, because of all our injuries this team is a young and inconsistent , with that being said it is time to quit wasting time by trying to get our 7 ft. center to play better as when he is in the game we get outscored horribly, The best way to rebuild is to play AT and T.Brown more as they are the future, I feel bad for Theron as he plays hard but has been put in a bad position as he is not a 4.I also am tired of watching 3 players around 5-11 start as it is hard for them to guard 6-4 players who are able to shoot over them. Changes need to be made or we are looking at another play-in game in St.Louis, I realize we have a lot of key injuries but we should still have enough talent to finish in the upper half of the Valley.

Re-Building year

I'm not certain a rebuilding year is the right answer. We had superior talent against UWM as we have had against most everyone we have played this year and some of those teams have superior talent vs most valley teams. That being said we can't call it rebuilding we need to call it a replacing year. If Les doesn't produce replace him, by producing I mean beating every team in the valley with lessor talent. I watched Evansville play UNC and they don't have anybody and wll spank us so bad it will make you sick. Les needs to put it together or hit the road. This whole season has just made me sick...

Yep - this one's gonna get edited/deleted too.
Aren't you guys wearing your crutches out yet...

People didn't want Les and have got an axe to grind - so the comparison comes up how if this were Mo - well, he'd been on the 'hot-seat' after 07 and fired after '08.

I'm getting a little weary of hearing how we have more talent than teams that are beating our brains out. Define talent. Are we quicker? Better jumpers? Stronger? Shoot lights out in practice? I think we tend to buy in too much to all the recruiting hype. If they can't play together ... as a team ... when the lights go on, none of the above means squat. The super talent is disorganized and out of control (to say nothing about being woefully undersized for a Div. 1 team). Injuries and inexperience have a great deal to do with it, but the pre-season hype about our superior "talent" led too many of us to think we could overcome anything and still win.

Besides talent breaks down into potential and whether its realized or not....
That can be coached you know...
And it can also be ruined in the same aspect

no it won't get deleted...it is simply a fact, we are playing much and sometimes MOST of the time with 3 freshmen and either a couple of 1st year jucos or a 2nd year player. We are going to struggle but JL has shown he can finish strong as we won 9 of our last 11 in 2005-2006, 6 of our last 9 in 2006-2007, and finished strong in the CBI last year.
The best is yet to come...

Since it became apparent that AW wasn't going to play, this year should be all about player development. It's frustrating, but I am willing to take the lumps and see a class mature. On that note though, it's frustrating to see us making the same fundamental defensive mistakes we've been making for the last 7 years (sans 2 years when we had a defensive coach on the bench). I expect freshmen to make freshman mistakes, but not all of our guys are freshman.
While I am willing to endure development 'lumps', it infuriates me to no end that Anthony Thompson isn't getting more time. There's absolutely no reason for it, and it's going to p-ss him off to the point of leaving and going somewhere that knows how to develop a big man.
It also infuriates me that we don't make any effort to get our big men the ball on the block. We missed AT a number of times before he was banished to the bench, and only got DC the ball there a couple of times.
Basically...if we're going to develop guys...let's freaking develop them and do it the right way. I feel like we're only going halfway right now - we're letting McCain, Norris, and Brown play through mistakes, but AT gets yanked? What's up with that? I could argue pretty strongly that AT is a much more important recruit than any of those 3, yet we're doing the least to develop him.Onward and Upward!

The reason I brought up rebuilding this season is because of the injuries to Warren and Egolf, (not because of coaching ) with Warren not playing we have lost Ruffin,Crouch,Salley, and Warren from last seasons starting lineup, you cannot replace those players so easily , we do have a lot of talent on this team but they are going to be inconsistent because they lack experience.
My concern is we are playing too many short guards and not giving AT or T.Brown enough minutes as they seem to produce when they are in the game. We also give up too many wide open 3 point shots on defense and miss a lot of open shots on offense.
