There are 8 games involving MVC teams today (Sat. 12/20).
Bradley is the only road team, at UW-Milwaukee. UNI and Creighton are the only 2 teams not playing.
So far only one game going, but it is kind of a yawner....
Indiana State is hosting DePauw (D-III), and with only about 3 minutes to go, the Sycamores look likely to win but not by much, as they lead DIII DePauw 57-46.
Here's an odd fact, DePauw leads the all-time series between the two schools 40-30!!
two other possible big time upsets are brewing.......
Tennessee is hosting 209 RPI Belmont and at half, Tennessee leads by only 4 pts.
44-40...despite Tennessee shooting almost 60% from the field!
Also at half USC is losing at home to North Dakota State 34-29, even though the Trojans are shooting 55% from the field.
The MVC jumped back into 9th place in Conference RPI ahead of WCC and CUSA.
ISU can complete a perfect 11-0 non-conference slate if they win tonight against UIC, but their RPI is still over 100 (103).
Definately keep an eye on the SIU/St. Mary's game and the Illinois St/UIC game. St. Mary's should be the second team out of the West Coast Conference again this year, while UIC just disposed of Georgia Tech at Georgia Tech last week. Both are dangerous teams, but at least these are home games for SIU and ISU, so it could be a great night for the Valley if Bradley, SIU and ISU win.
-ISU is handling UIC pretty well and is up by 7 at the half.
-Wichita State and Evansville both up by 3 at the half.
-Bradley down by 18 at the half, shooting a whopping 30% FG.
-SIU lost by 13 at home.
