  • Freshmen classes- comparison

    Stats from the SIU-Nevada game--
    SIU 48
    Nevada 62

    Stats from SEMO-BU game-

I am not trying to make a case that SIU's freshmen aren't talented, or that Bradley's freshmen are as good as SIU's, or that it's fair to compare just 1 game, against different opponents, but today's numbers show that freshmen can be wildly inconsistent. Who's freshmen had a better day today? You be the judge--

Totals from today for the top freshman class in the MVC--
    Ryan Hare- 0 points, 0 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 turnover, 0steals
    Kevin Dillard- 4 points, 1 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 turnovers, 0 steals
    Anthony Booker- 0 points, 0 rebounds, 0 assists, 0 turnovers, 0 steals
    Justin Bocot- 0 points, 1 rebound, 0 assists, 2 turnovers, 0 steals, 1 block
    Nick Evans- 0 points, 1 rebound, 0 assists, 3 turnovers, 0 steals
    Torres Roundtree- 0 points, 3 rebounds, 0 assist, 1 turnover, 0 steals
    total for all 6- 4 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 11 turnovers, 0 steals, 1 block

By comparison, totals for today from Bradley's freshmen-
    Eddren McCain- 7 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 turnovers, 2 steals
    Darian Norris-12 points, 0 rebounds, 2 assists, 0 turnovers, 3 steals
    Taylor Brown- 9 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 turnover, 2 steals
    Anthony Thompson- 2 points, 3 rebounds, 0 assists, 1 turnover, 0 steals, 1 block
    total for all 4- 30 points, 15 rebounds, 9 assists, 5 turnovers, 7 steals, 1 block

We played one of the worst teams in America at home. They played a respectable program on the road. Hopefully we get similar results on December 28, but SIU has a talented class.
    Onward and Upward!

      Can only agree partially....

Yes we did play a bad team...

No Nevada is not good this year...

They'll be lucky to win 15 games...

Either way, I do believe the assessment is correct that we have better Freshmen...and in fact, at this point we have the best Freshmen class in the conference....

How will they mold over the next 3 seasons, we shall find out...

I don't think we have the best freshmen in the conference.

We have had the best freshman every year since 2003. When can we expect to win the Valley?

When we stop playing undersized lineups ...

When we stop having all sorts of time missed by good players (injuries, suspensions, etc.) ...

When we run an offense that suits the talent on the team ...

            Should I go on?
            Go Braves!

I don't believe that is true.

When we finish with more conference wins than the other teams.

JC I'm gonna agree with you, there is nothing wrong with the talent level at Bradley
