To categorize the Summit as Midwest is reaching. What, with teams located in North Dakota, Utah and Louisiana to name a few.

What about the OVC? They are number one on my list, haha. I would definitely pick the Horizon over the MVC even though the Horizon is down slightly from last year.

Yeah, unfortunately, I think Horizon has to be listed over the MVC. They have some nice non-conference wins.

The good news is that today's snow storm has moved out of the Milwaukee area. Left about 12 inches here. Should be clear for everyone coming up later tonight or early tomorrow. More snow on the way later tomorrow and into sat night and sunday....

I think this is a game that Bradley should win, although road games are never easy. Pomeroy's site predicts a 74-70 BU win.

UWM offensively is a perimeter-oriented team - they excel at limiting turnovers (36th nationally) and taking a large amount of threes (while hitting at a solid 36% clip). They're a very short team, so they don't get many buckets inside and are one of the worst offensive rebounding teams in the country - pretty typical of a perimeter-oriented team. Overall, their offense is pretty average (184th nationally in adjusted offensive efficiency).

Individually, nobody really stands out in terms of efficiency - the whole team has fairly mediocre numbers thus far, although nobody has been awful either. Junior SG Tone Boyle leads the team in minutes by a large margin and shoots a decent amount, so he is the leading scorer. The other aggressive shooters are senior guard Avery Smith (almost all from inside the arc), sophomore PF Anthony Hill (their best rebounder), and 6'7'' 340 lbs (!) shooter James Eayrs (42% from downtown). Ricky Franklin is a steady senior PG that can't shoot.

Defensively, UWM has really struggled. They force very few turnovers, so that might be a welcome relief for BU. Teams haven't taken many threes against UWM thus far, probably because the lane has been so hospitable with them rarely blocking shots. Bradley should try to attack the basket and then take the opens threes that result when UWM packs it in.

This is possibly the worst defensive team that Bradley has left on their schedule, so hopefully the Braves can build up some confidence and get their outside shooting back on track.

              Milwaukee opens as 1-point favorites.
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

Well, I guess that means big minutes for AT. Time to step up, kid!

I'd like to see DC step up. He's been in this sytem now for over a year and we have seen guys make some giant steps once they become comfortable with the system. MS became a much better team player 2nd 1/2 of the season last year. Can DC step it up? I also believe DC woud be much better served in our offense if he started getting the ball 5-15' from the basket and started hitting his jump shot. One thing we all can agree is that he does have a nice shot. He will never be that guy that loves to dunk on people. AT and TB on the other hand have some nice moves close to the basket.

I am in Milwaukee, and the weather up here isn't too bad right now. The temp is 26, though it's predicted to drop to close to zero tonight, with a high of 9 tomorrow.

But they got around 15 inches of snow Thursday, and though the city is prepared for such large snowfalls, there isn't anywhere to put all of the stuff that's cleared off the streets. So it's piled up all over town making it hard to walk around.

They are expecting a small attendance tonight because students are long gone, it's Christmas week, the weather and snow will deter some people, and I just found out that the Milwaukee Bucks are playing at the same time in the Bradley Center, which is adjacent to the US Cellular Arena.
I am hoping for a big Bradley contingent.

If anyone lives near Chicago or in Wisconsin, come on up!
The roads are fine, and there will be plenty of good tickets available.

I even have an extra ticket, if anyone needs one. It a good seat near the court.
PM me asap if you could use the ticket.
