  • Wow-Kentucky clobbering Indiana

I'm not Tornado, but I had to start a thread on Indiana. No offense to Matt Roth, but this Indiana team SUCKS! Kentucky isn't even that good of a team, but Indiana looks terrible! 36-13. I guess being on national tv draws the recruits, but like this??

Yeah...I've been in college for a while now and I'm pretty sure that awesomest is not a word. -Andrew E.

the reporter Seth Davis commented that the Hoosiers were so bad that......
"as bad as I am I could still play for Indiana"

    a lot of surprising scores...

I wonder if Matt Roth and the Hoosiers make it to the Big Dance before BU does. I hope not.

Hard to say. Crean is one of the nation's top coaches, and by virtue of being in the Big 10 it's much easier to get into the tournament than being in the MVC. I'd be shocked if Crean didn't have the Hoosiers back in the NCAA's next year. However, I would be shocked if Matt Roth was a contributor on that team as well.

I'll agree that Crean is a good coach but there is NO WAY he gets IU back into the NCAA's next year. If they go .500 next year he would be Coach of the Year.

I think you underestimate his coaching ability, the talent they have coming in, and the favoritism shown to BCS teams by selection committee. Indiana is one of the most storied programs in college basketball. If they're remotely close to at-large consideration, they'll be in. Book it.

Well Crean is 100% the right guy for this job. He's done what he needs to do to put the team back on the right track. Sometimes the best way to fix a broken situation is to blow it up and start over from scratch. The players are playing their hearts out for the coach, and the fans appreciate their efforts. They'll take their lumps this year, but with the recruiting class next year, IU will not only make the tourney next year, they will be a force to be reckoned with withing 4 years. Book it.
People need to recognize there is a huge difference between playing hard, and playing well...

I think the turmoil at IU isn't over...
they've oversigned so someone has to either be booted or have their scholarship yanked and given to someone else.
Then I wonder how all those freshmen and newcomers are going to feel if they believe they've suffered through an ugly period, then get their playing time taken away and given to the next wave of 4-Star kids Crean brings in for 2009 & 2010.
Despite how obvious it was that all of Sampson's recruits were going to become disgruntled and either leave or be booted, there were still people who were surprised by it!

                btw--Matt Roth ended yesterday's game 3-6 from 3-pt...
He was 1-4 over the first 18:13 then in the final 2 minutes, with Kentucky up 21, Roth launched a couple more 3-pointers
against the likes of Kentucky's Mark Krebs, Landon Slone, and Mark Halsell.
Roth was in at the end of the garbage time, but so were IU starters Devan Dumes, Malik Story, Nick Williams, and Tom Pritchard.
UK's starters had long been removed.

I think Roth would have seen some playing time at Bradley this year and I really think not have a true 3 point threat is what is really killing us.

Ya think. Heemy I couldn't agree with you more. I've said several times on this board and I'll say it again. Matt was the recruit we lost that we needed the most. Our 3 point shooting leaves alot to be desired and he would have gotten major minutes here. He knows that and chose to go another route so if he doesn't see the floor much next year I won't feel to sorry for him.
